The main function of governments is sustain a healthy and prosperous community, drugs do not contribute to that cause.
Sure there is corruption and hypocrisy, but there is more wisdom in the rejection of dope by the law than the desire to use it by the dumb junkies.
I would say draw the line at pot.
If you think about it, pot is far less damaging to our society than alchohol.
Alcohol will never be banned, the government rakes to much in from it and it doesn't work, it just increases organised crime. Prohibition in the 20's.
Marijuana will never become legal, because there is no way the government could control it and it does have more health risks than smoking cigarettes.

Dude, check it. It's mostly because Pierre DuPont and William Randolf Hearst felt it was a threat to the economy. They monopolized the timber industry and chemical production. Basically anything that could be made by wood and chemicals could be made with hemp, therefore they wanted it illegal. It wasn't really a smoking issue, but the smoking thing did help with their propaganda. Check out sites like this to learn more. 🙂

Weed is not illegal because of ''health risks''. It originaly became illegal because of greed - weed became a threat to cloth industry, it became threat to paper industry, since it was cheaper and better to make.
You can also make oil using marijuana 😱
