That is exactly what I mean. The USSR was just called communist, though it was easy to see that the ideals broke down at the latest when Lenin died and Stalin succeeded him. There's a thing I respect in the USSR, they had guts to stuck the missiles to Cuba and make the USA remove theirs from Turkey.

You're from Finland? I would assume you would have nothing but animosity for the former Soviet Union. Some of the fighting in your country against the communists was among the worst during and after WWII.
Yeah, I'm a Finn. We really don't have that much bad blood with the former USSR, because we tried to forget the war already during the time we paid reparations. And of course, we had to have some respect towards them because they could have crushed us at ease, forgetting made things easier.
And war is war, though the Winter War (first of the two wars we had with the Sovierts during the WWII) was unprovoked, we actually started the Continuation War. It was because we knew the USSR would attack sooner or later, but still we started it.
We lost both of the wars, but Finland was never conquered or occupied. Pretty well fought and the results were impressive for a country like this...

So, I think this would fit in the history forum? Or the general discussion, but communism caused many rebellions in Russia and other countries (the red wedge etc) And it was all linked to dictatorship, although dictatorship is still around today (In North Korea and everything), but etc. Post what you think about Dictatorships and communism etc
They are basically the same thing. Its like how we remember Stalin instead of a group of equals who ruled evenly and fairly. Stalin was the overall leader, the only true difference is that it dosent take a rebellion to overthrow a communist leader

unless that communist party is also fascist...
dictatorships and communism are not the same, but alike.
Communism is a scourge. A friend of mine, born here in the United States, is of Russian decent. His grandmother escaped the former Soviet Union because they went around killing religious people who did not want to conform to the Communist principles of atheism.
Sad to say, my friend's grandmother and one of her sisters barely survived. Her 2 brothers were killed by Stalin's troops raiding their home in search of Russian Orthodox Christians who retaliated. Her other sister was also killed.
In a Communist form of government, religion is not tolerated, and in the Soviet union's case, many where murdered including Chrisitans, Jews, Muslims, etc. Also, no matter what your job is, everyone is in equal shares, for instance:
A guy works his butt off 7 days a week to provide for his family, yet he makes the same amount of money as an office assistant who barely does anything.
Communism IS a form of dictatorship. Think about it. If someone opposed Stalin or Lenin during their time, what could they do? Of course, they would probably have the opposition killed. The head of a communist government government controls all, and there is no one who can stop him. Think Stalin, Lenin, Castro (though Castro tolerates religion).
Lets just say Communism doesn't work, it's lame, and has caused millions to die.
