Oh, surely that guy must be suicidal, writing a story in which Spock and Kirk will have to be re-cast.

Some loony fan is actually going to kill him.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking.

A lot of Trekies will probably be very angry with a young/new Kirk and Spock.

And the person who kills him and/or the actors involved will claim in court that he was enforcing the Prime Directive.

When I don't see any Prime Directive infringement yet.

But I strongly oppose to have Captain Kirk and Spock return. They're heroes and deserve their rightfull rest and peace. It's time for new blood and new characters to be introduce.

I second that... recasting kirk and spock will only lead to trouble imo...

fine. but does that discredit the idea of recasting or simply point out george lucas' poor judgement? so strike that and add ewan as obiwan. better?

i have no problem with recasting if its needed and the right decision is made...

what i disagree with is making the movie about kirk and spock, when they could easily use ds9, voyager, enterprise or a completely new crew...

i just pity the poor guy who has to impersonate william shatner's mannerisms...

Anyway, back to the subject at hand...I think it would be a horrible travesty if they were to try and re-make the two most well known Star Trek characters in the world...and yes, I would pity the young actor who would have to follow in Shatners footsteps, thats one rep you'll never be able to wipe 😈
