I know its an expression and i didnt take it literally. What i mean is that though forrest was on underdog he had did have alot of people thinking hed win because of that very fact. On UFC.com,mmashare and about 2 others im on there were quite a few people like this.

I was rooting for Forrest. I didnt thought he was gonna win but I like the guy. Hes the underdog most times.

I was rooting for Anderson because he's my favorite fighter & has gotten much undue criticism recently

They said he was fine. He just didnt took the loss well. in other words, ran like a little *****!

Anybody see WEC last night?. Miguel Torres got knocked the fk out! and like a true athlete, he didnt ran away.

Last I heard, his camp said Forrest had a dislocated jaw. & Torres couldn't have ran away even if he wanted to. Brian Bowels really ****ed him up. He's very heavy handed & has vicious G&P.

GSP wishes he could wrestle like Hendo 🙂

No one is taking Anderson in stand up(MW/WW fighters), it doesn't matter if GSP is better than Hendo, he isn't better than Silva.

Anyone's best option is to take Silva and try to control him on the ground, Hendo will do a better job of that than GSP imo.

Forrest weight would have given him trouble if he actually tried to clinch or takedown, not swing wildly on someone who has great speed and counter attacks. He probably had one of the worst strategies I've seen in a fight.

I know, what the hell was that. i knew going into the fight that shit he used on rampage wasn't gonna fly. To tell you the truth, he seemed scared to me, He was thowing pre mature and anderson was picking him apart for it. Anderson baited him beautiful when he tried the leg kicks, he switched stance to the leg he wanted forrest to hit and like a fool forrest went for it. I gotta speak my cousin, hes known Forrest for ten years. He can probably tell me what was on his mind.

This is the first time im disagreeing with you. Not even close my friend. Hendo doesn't shoot in like GSP does, but Hendo on the ground is an animal. Did you see how well he held against a bigger Rampage.

GSP would have too much trouble on the ground with Hendo.

That's my point. When Henderson faces a high level wrestler, he puts up a good fight. When GSP faces a high level wrestler, he utterly outclasses his opponent. Henderson was incapable of using his wrestling to any significant effect against Silva, who touts the wrestling pedigree of a four year old. GSP has met noone to stand up to his wrestling.

Keep in mind, I refer strictly to skill level here. In a direct confrontation, I agree that Henderson would give GSP trouble on the ground and may even beat him. I attribute this to Henderson's physical attributes rather than his skill though.

That's insane. Why whould he want to be worse?

You're extracting a little more from my post than I injected. I merely suggested that GSP wouldn't get torn apart on his feet as easily as Henderson did. I am not saying that GSP would outstrike Silva. The threat of GSP isn't his stand up. GSP is threatening because he can so easily switch ranges and fight at the same high level. Henderson can't claim the same. I know you're not saying he can, but it is worth mentioning.

That is a solid strategy. Unfortunately, any of Silva's opponents still need the ability to stand with Silva without getting destroyed. As for Henderson's top game, he already failed to control Silva. If GSP can successfully put on weight without compromising his performance, I don't see the same happening with GSP on top.

I agree wholeheartedly. That was all included in "if Forrest knew how to us it" though. I felt his poor strategy was obvious, so I didn't elaborate. 😛

Oh.

Silva is 6 2 and is around 185-190.

Thiago is 5 9 and prob around 180.

GSP had no issues controlling Thiago and was dominating him.

Thiago and Anderson are completley different fighters though. Henderson could barely control Anderson on the ground. GSP would have just as much trouble as Henderson had.

I'm pretty sure Anderson is more around the 210-220 lb range. Alves is around 205. GSP himself walks around at about 190.

As for the Henderson bit, I'm not so sure. Alves managed to thwart Koschek's wrestling, been a while since I watched it though, and GSP still threw him around easily. Anderson hasn't stopped a take down in his life save for like....Thales Leites. Alves and Silva are both black belts in BJJ as well. Like you said, Silva is different from Alves, but we can't overlook the fact that GSP did dominate a fighter with similar ground credentials to Anderson.

I just have the feeling GSP's top game will prove more troublesome than Henderson's if GSP can overcome the size disparity.

Silva Idles at 185; Perma-Move to 205 Declared Premature ShareThis
By Jake Rossen ([email protected])
Wednesday, August 12 12:00 am PT: If something in this business sounds too good to be true, bet that it isn’t: after a weekend report from Yahoo’s Dan Wetzel that recounted a discussion between Dana White and Anderson Silva’s manager, Ed Soares, Soares told ESPN’s Franklin McNeil that no such talk ever occurred.

Wetzel wrote that Soares and White indulged in some speculation that Silva should make a permanent move to the 205 lb. class, a logical step for a fighter who’s reduced his middleweight division to bomb rubble. But Soares insisted to McNeil that the talk was entirely fictional.

“That is totally false,” Soares said. “I never said that to Dana.” Soares’ plans for Silva instead lean toward alternate weight-class bouts. But “he is going to keep defending that [185 lb.] belt.”

Too bad, but not unexpected: Silva disassociating himself from the middleweight division would involve increasing pressure to face friend Lyoto Machida in a 205 lb. title fight. Despite remaining cool to that idea, Soares only wants “the big fights” for his man; hopefully both he and the UFC understand that a run of rematches at 185 don’t live up to that proposal.

That's great and all, but that merely tells the weight class Anderson fights in after he cuts down. His natural weight is much higher. Of course, you don't have to take my word for it. You probably should take Anderson's though. Enjoy.

Skip to 4:20 into the video. Anderson is asked why he looks so big even at 205. By Anderson's own admission, his natural weight is around 220 lbs.

Yeah I didnt know why I posted that, they only have to make requirements at weight in, then after they have 1 day to gain as much weight as possible.

YouTube video

Yeah, that video is gay and stupid.

Still, seeing Fedor armbar Captain Planet is priceless.

Chris Cyborg destroyed Gina

Yeah she did. Where the **** is Tara Larosa?! I keep seeing people she's beaten b4 but I don't see her.

My boy won. Glad he beat Babalu. Thought he would have had a bit more difficulty. Remember the first time I saw Mousasi in DEEP. I knew he was gonna make it big. I'm surprised his ground game has improved so quickly.

I made 50 dollars last night. My brother got swept up in the hype. I knew she was gonna get twisted. Ginas whole style is constantly coming forward and overpowering her opponents but that shit wasn't going to work with that manish girl.

I remember you saying this a long time ago.
Props for recognizing his talent back then. 😎
