A fun quiz.To find out which fighter you are most like.Hope the link still works
i watched it.
spoilers:
Spoiler:
i thought the event was somewhat slow. i wasn't impressed by Werdum's "slaps". he tends to be much more aggressive and AA proved he was the superior fighter. AA played it smart, didn't go to the ground for he would have lost, and took it to a Unanimous Decision.i was upset the Machida fight wasn't shown, and as for the Cro Cop fight, what a SHOCKER.
Last 15 seconds of the fight, im telling my friends to look for Cro Cop's head kick...i guess it was the other way around. we literally froze and no one spoke for a good 2 minutes. A friend of mine was saying this was fixed, but i dont believe it. not a chance. Gonzaga is a fighter with heart. Cro Cop is a fighter with a huge ego and too much confidence. i think he thought he was going to just walk through gonzaga like he did with sanchez.
i took that quiz
heres what i got.
Randy Couture!
The all american champion best describes you.
You like to find what your opponent is best at and beat him with his own tactics.Your wrestiling skills are superior to almost anyone and you were born a champion.

Spoiler:
. I'm surprised Crocop didn't hurt his leg with the way he fell. The strange thing is, I kept telling my friends that I think Crocop might lose. I just had this strange feeling. They didn't believe me but they were the ones who ended up shocked. I just felt it coming. Crocop seems to get beat by people he shouldn't lose to. I think his supposed arrogance is what is keeping him from being the absolute best. We need to see more consistency from Crocop. He honestly shouldn't lose to anyone below Big Nog. I guess we'll have to wait until Nogueira gets to UFC to see someone truly dominate. I think Randy is going to murder Gonzaga though.
I must say I a pleased with my results. Bas is an awesome, sportsmanlike fighter AND hilarious.
I was shocked about the Crocop knockout. That's the second suprise loss of his career.Hopefully he comes back though and gets some revenge.Props to Gabreil Gonzaga for the win.I was dissapointed in Arloski's performance. That's who CC should fight next imo.
Nog is ufc will be good but i think he's gonna run into some problems. He likes to fight on his back alot and he is realy passive.I could see some elbows coasting him a few matches.I think him in ufc could come down to a lot of close decions.
Originally posted by G U I T A Rwe'll you can't say a fighter isn't much of a "kicker". to be a real MMA fighter, you need a strong background in any form of JiuJitsu, Kickboxing, Boxing, and Wrestling. Gonzaga is a great Brazilian Jiu Jiutsu fighter. Everyone was waiting for Cro Cop to do his Left High Kick to KO Gonzaga, but it literally was the other way around. Gonzaga used a Right High Kick which put Cro Cop to sleep.
I havent been watching UFC to long but I heard gonzaga isnt much of a kicker im guessing that K.O to cro cop was unexpected?
Example:
Fedor Emelianenko (26-1-0)
His background is Sambo and Judo, but he has been training his kicks and punches by taking Tae Kwon Do and Karate classes in Korea.
another one would be
Rampage Jackson (26-6-0)
He started out with a wrestling background and was known for slamming opponents easily. He gradually worked on his punches and is now working on his leg kicks to get ready for Chuck Liddell.
my point is, MMA is MMA for a reason. One style of fighitng isn't going to get you far.

i hope i dont get hated for this, but the Octagon is terrible. The Ring is much more realistic and allows fighters to perform more technically.
Also, UFC seriously needs to allow head kicks/knees while the opponent is down.
As for Crocop's knockout. I honestly think Crocop expected that kick to be mid level or lower. Hell, Gonzaga doesn't even look like he could throw a high kick.
Originally posted by mr.smileyyea i read it this morning. Cro Cop isn't use to the elbows. i honestly think the elbows stop fights way too soon. They should remove elbows, and add knees on a downed opponent.
Crocop said his loss was due to the elbows.he said when Herb Dean stood them up he could barely see.But he promised revenge in the interview too.I think it was on sherdog.
Pride rules are much better.
