I'm serious by the way 😄

You got that mixed up a little. Money should be higher. Video games knocked out organic chemistry in round 1 of their last fight btw.

This.

If Jones faces a top level opponent in his next fight, and wins in a convincing manner, I'd say give him a title shot.

Yeah. We know he is good, but we need to see just how good.

I'd say give Jones Thiago, Rich or Forrest for his next fight.

Agreed.

My fav would be Jones vs Forrest.

That would be a great fight but Forrest would be cut up so badly....lol.

Especially with Jones shooting off about 47 elbows per second.

I think you're getting ahead of yourself if you think Jones would beat Forrest so easily.

He may win, but Forrest would be a great test for him.

No, I dont think that he easily wins but like all Forrest fights he always ends up a bloody mess. This fight should be more so.

They asked Forrest about him v Jones on the Daily Line. Forrest's response was hilarious. Trying to find a clip 4ya'll now.

Found it. Forrest on the Daily Line Forrest keeps it real & explains how James Toney got in the UFC. I'm gonna try to get a copy of Forrest's book too.

lol that's horrible

In Tysons prime with MMA training, do you guys think he could do well in todays MMA?

A co woker of mine says hes just be another Kimbo in which I replied back to him with a [csm[faceplam[/csm]

facepalm

No Jones for a while.

http://mmajunkie.com/news/20190/jon-jones-next-move-not-determined-until-dust-settles-in-ufc-light-heavyweight-division.mma

Lyoto Machida and Quinton "Rampage" Jackson are slated to meet in November. Forrest Griffin, Rich Franklin, Thiago Silva are all on the shelf with injuries. But there is one matchup in September that White feels like may provide a suitable foe: the UFC 119 clash between Ryan Bader and Antonio Rogerio Nogueira.

"We'll see who wins between Bader and 'Little Nog,' White said. "[Jones] could fight one of them.

"The problem is right now everybody's fighting in that division. When the smoke clears and the dust settles, we'll see who's where, and we'll start picking fights for 'Bones' Jones.

Forrest may be too slow for Jones. Jones has an unorthodox approach in almost every aspect of his game.

You're co-worker is an idiot. Tyson in his prime with decent takedown defense and decent muay thai knowledge would be champion...for a LONG time.

LOL @ Forrest

Unorthodox =/= good. While Jones has fantastic wrestling and I have no doubt that he'd be able to get Forrest to the ground, Forrest's BJJ is quite impressive. He was able to sweep Tito from the guard to end up in top position. Plus we haven't seen Jones outstrike anyone on Quinton Jackson's level like Forrest has.

I have a problem with this statement.

MMA fighters are the best fighters in the world. Period. Not boxers. Not wrestlers. Not K-1 kickboxers. MMA fighters.

They're not world-class in anything, but their good in everything.

It would take Tyson years of training to get a solid wrestling base. And developing take down defense by itself isn't enough. There's always going to be that guy out there that's able to bring you down to the ground. UH OH!!!! WHAT NOW???!!! This is where BJJ kicks in. If Tyson has no ground game, he either gets submitted within seconds or GnP'd to dust.

All of this training in wrestling and BJJ "in Tyson's prime" would also divert his attention away from honing his skills as a boxer.

Not to mention, Tyson is an idiot savant at boxing. I'm not exactly sure he has the intelligence to effectively train in other styles of martial arts.

So, in short, no I don't think Tyson would make a good MMA fighter.

On his own, Tyson is probably not a good fighter. If you give him good trainers though, I could see Tyson wrecking the vast majority of even today's heavyweights. Him being a champion of Fedor's caliber isn't that farfetched to me.

That said, everything I just mentioned is based mostly on personal conjecture.

...so there.

Until Brock, look at what Carwin did, his opponets never got out of the first round because they were all KOed. Now compare that to a much better striker like Tyson then you add MMA into the mix.

Tyson at his heaviest was 220. He'd get thrown around like a ragdoll in the heavyweight division.

Also, Carwin has the advantage of being f*ckin huge and has a great wrestling pedigree.

So yeah... your analogy doesn't correlate at all.
