Herring BANKED! I feel bad for Sherk.

MMAWeekly has obtained the fighter salary information for the UFC 73: Stacked, which took place on Saturday, July 7 in Sacramento, Calif.

The following figures are based on the fighter salary information that the Ultimate Fighting Championship is required by law to submit to the state athletic commissions. All figures provided by the California State Athletic Commission.

Although MMA fighters do not have collective bargaining or a union, the fighters' salaries are still public record, just as with every other major sport in the United States. Any undisclosed bonuses that the UFC also pays its fighters, but does not disclose to the athletic commissions, are not included in the figures below.

In the listings below, "Main Event Fighters" are defined as fighters who compete in the main event of a show and/or compete in a title fight on a show. "Preliminary Match Fights" are fights that are taped before a television or pay-per-view show goes on the air, regardless of whether or not those fights aired on the telecast or pay-per-view broadcast.

The official attendance for UFC 73, as recorded by the CSAC, was 13,183. That total includes a paid attendance of 8,622, or 65.4% of the total attendance. There were 4,561 exempt or complimentary tickets that the promotion gave away, or 34.6% of the total attendance. The total capacity of the Arco Arena for UFC 73 was 16,811. That leaves 3,628 tickets that were neither sold nor given away.

The live gate (total gross receipts) for UFC 73 was $1,551,920, compared to a total disclosed fighter payroll of $628,340.

Shogun will face Machida at UFC 76

That will be awesome.

Yeah, I think Tito won it overall as well. I honestly think the judges were just reluctant to give Rashad his first loss when it wasn't a KO or submission.
Tito won the 1st round. He cost himself a point for repeatedly grabbing the cage in Rd.2 & then lost the last round clearly. The judges got this one right.

Shogun better come prepared. Machida is no joke. He's very technical and has ability to knockout opponents.

I don't see how he lost round 3 because of one takedown, and I am aware of the deducted points. I still stand by what I said.

That is a low payout true, but we must remember that this is still a sport. The athletes are just entertainers and as such their pay is determined by the audience.

i gotta disagree with you StylesTime. Tito did nothing in the last round. Rashad didn't do much either, but he got one takedown and was pacing the fight more.

Clearly a draw.

I would love to see Frank Shamrock back in the UFC, or even in Pride. Greatest fighter ever IMO, but it's like he has some vendetta against the more well known MMA orginazations, or maybe the lesser known ones just pay him more, point being I'd like to see his name out there more.

Frank Shamrock, Nick Diaz and numerous other fighters claim that UFC is corrupt. they use to also say Pride had Yakuza connections.

i dont know what to believe. i just want Pride back. the ring > octagon.

I don't know about corrupt, but after seeing the fighters salaries, I would definetly say there unfair. I understand Tito is a bigger draw than Evans, and I think he should get more money than him, but he is getting over 3/4 of what Evans made, and Evans didn't even lose. Paywise, over half that kind was raped, espcially considering how much boxers get paid, and UFC earns more in revenues and sales than boxing.

Ditto. Rashad ground & pounded him a tad bit too in the last round. A little bit beats nothing all the time.

I think they both have their strong points. I like elbows. Muay Thai rules!!! Dana should let Pride keep their original ruleset.

We all do. Everytime I watch a UFC match I keep asking myself.

Where are the stomps, soccer kicks and piledrivers? 🙁

Pride, come back!

I didn't know they did piledrivers in Pride. Any specific fights I should watch?

Man, he's not even going to try to rebuild Pride. I don't know why he won't just come out and say it. I actually heard Fedor doesn't like UFC. I know it's just a rumor but it does seem to be taking a while to get him.

Yeah. They don't do really do them that often as it is extremely dangerous aand the opportunity doesn't always present itself. Sapp vs Nog had a couple. Rampage didn't piledrive Arona but a Power Bomb is quite close. Randleman did a suplex on Fedor that looks piledriveresque but backwards.

I'll see if I can think of some more later.

Oh shit!
I just found out Shogun is supposed to fight in UFC 76, and has signed a deal (obviously).
Wonder who his victim is...

Maybe they're going to put him against Chuck...
That's a match I would like to see.

Poor Rampage though... he just gets the belt and Shogun is now in it...

Damn, he talked alot of shit about Frank. Frank is scared of Tito? Last time I checked Frank taught Tito a lesson in humility, and the smoke and mirrors comment, that seriously almost made me laugh. But Henderson Vs Jackson should be a sweet fight, can't wait for that one.
