I just found out Shogun is supposed to fight in UFC 76, and has signed a deal (obviously).
Wonder who his victim is...

Maybe they're going to put him against Chuck...
That's a match I would like to see.

Poor Rampage though... he just gets the belt and Shogun is now in it...

Shogun's first opponent is Machida. Shogun is gonna have a hard time in my opinion.

Hmm... well that changes everything.

I forgot he was in UFC... other than Forest pussying out against him.

I wonder how well he'll adapt to the elbows?

And the not being allowed to stomp, and soccer kick people's head, when they're on the ground?

Shogun did make good use of stomps and ground kicks. I hope he can adapt and doesn't like accidently throw one and get disqualified.

Oh and Tito Rashad II is on for UFC 77.

piledrivers? the only one i remember was Nog vs Bob Sapp. that looked real painful. here's the fight

it's a classic

Thanx

Yeah. They don't do really do them that often as it is extremely dangerous aand the opportunity doesn't always present itself. Sapp vs Nog had a couple. Rampage didn't piledrive Arona but a Power Bomb is quite close. Randleman did a suplex on Fedor that looks piledriveresque but backwards.

I'll see if I can think of some more later.

Thanx. I saw the Randleman fight b4. It's gotta be upsetting to hit somebody w/a move like that and still wind up tapping out. Has anybody ever kicked Fedor's a$$?

I wanna see him fight Rampage again. I think he can beat Shogun if he avoids the clench & keeps from getting his ribs broken.

Fedor has technically never lost. his 1 "loss" was due to a cut. it was supposed to be called a NC, but since it was a tournament, they just gave it a loss. the fight was against TK which lasted like 40 seconds. TK threw an elbow which cut Fedor while standing. Elbows weren't allowed as well.

Jardine/Liddell may headline UFC 76. That would be a good brawl.

it was suppose to be Liddell vs Wanderlei for that event. really dissapointed. probably an easy victory for Liddell.

I'm still wondering about the Machida/Shogun fight.

Does Dana not know who Machida is? Usually, big fighters from Pride get a few canon fodder opponents to build up their name. Shogun isn't getting a warm up match or anything.

I personally think Shogun will edge out a win. He still seems like a better fighter to me. We'll see though.

I'm a little let down the Liddell and Silva fight wont be happening, I would bet the house on Silva....

Cage Rage 22 was today.

Butterbean lost to Tengiz Tedoradze. i'm not too surprised. the Georgian is a good striker and sambo practicioner. He had much more experience than Butterbean.

it might happen after Jardine vs Liddell, but i think Dana is trying to prevent it from happening. i mean, Silva isn't going to back down any fight. the man fought HW's and proved that he has the balls to face off with any fighter.

Whos "TK"?

Sorry, im not at expert in MMA and i still havent watched many of the fighters in action, but i thought Fedor was unbeatable.
who stole his perfect record?

well it's not a real loss. the fight was so quick and Fedor got caught with an elbow (which wasn't allowed) and it easily cut open Fedor. here's the fight

the had a rematch, and Fedor destroyed him.

Sperry won his fight also, a quick submission in the first round. Sperry's probably my favorite fighter so it's nice to see him get a win.

No doubt... Silva has nothing to prove. The dude has fought CroCop twice. He's not ducking anyone.

Sperry is no joke.

there were rumors that in vale tudo he had a 200-0 record until he lost to some unkown guy.

can anyone confirm this?

ok i found some more info on Mario Sperry, my last post may be wrong.

apparently Royler Gracie and Mario Sperry were the two top BJJ fighters at one point. Royler had a near perfect record, and he was defeating everyone. Mario was actually undefeated in BJJ at the time, with almost 300 wins.

here's the video of Mario Sperry vs Royler Gracie
http://youtube.com/watch?v=keDhvHWee58

Royler tapped! shocking.

but in 05' Sperry finally lost. it was to Roger Gracie.

Isnt Rickson the strongest Gracie of all times?

What a bs match, the jap used a forbidden elbow to free himself from fedor's grip. that should have been a no contest!
