Out of curiousity, how would anyone rate Bob Sapp? He seems like he'd be a mad fighter, but not so much when there are rules and regulations.

-AC

Sapp has size and strength going for him, but it stops there. He usually gets tired too quickly and looses to any of the truly skilled fighters. I.e Nogueira or Crocop

He is a cool guy though. I find his fights entertaining to say the least. If he would train more seriously, he really could be a dominant fighter. Combining his size and strength with skill would make him dangerous.

I ordered it.

I have a bad feeling that Vera is going to lose. Vera seems a bit overconfident from what I've seen from him lately.

I am rooting for Anderson as well, but Rich doesn't strike me as the type of guy not to learn from a loss. It'll be an amazing fight, I think all the fights will be good tonight.

Lesnar's in the UFC. Coolies.

Decent event...glad i didn't pay for it.

I was hoping for Vera to K'O Silva. Too ba it didnt happen. I dont lose hope specially since Bresnar is in the UFC now. opefully if he accomplishes only 1 thing I hope is beating Silva's ass. Cant stand taht guy.

I enjoyed the event.

Stephan Bonnar vs Schafer- This fight went pretty much as I expected with Bonnar dominating. I've always liked Bonnar and I'm glad he won. Anyone else notice how similarly Bonnar and Griffin fight?

Belcher vs Starnes- Impressive showing from Belcher. It's unfortunate he won via cut, but Belcher was man handling Starnes anyway. Nice striking from him. I think Belcher may be someone to look out for in the future.

Sylvia vs Vera-

I was right about this one. Vera even admitted not sticking to his gameplan when he fought. This isn't neccessarily a bad thing for Vera though. He still has time to go train harder and come back better. Also, Brandon hadn't fought in like 7 trillion years and jumps straight into a fight with Sylvia. WTF?

Franklin vs Silva- WOW. Silva is just the anti Franklin. He even dropped his hands and just dodged for parts of the fights. Silva didn't even look serious. He is untouchable right now. Why didn't he do this stuff back in Pride? I still give accolades to Franklin though. He showed up and fought hard, but Silva is just on another level. They are both stand up guys though and deserve respect. Silva even bowed 4 times to the very crowd that boooed him.

On a side note, it looks like Sylvia vs Nogueira is in the works. I wouldn't mind seeing that myself. Sylvia kept saying that Vera "hasn't been tested". Maybe Sylvia needs to "get tested" against some better heavywieights.

Vera broke his left hand in round 1 during the fight. regardless, he was going to lose this. i was just hoping he would KO Sylvia.

Okami's contract is done, and i dont think UFC wants to renew it. MacDonald before the fight said the only reason their fight is not on the ppv is cuz UFC says Okami is a boring fighter.

I like Okami, and i would like to see a rematch against Silva. Hopefully it happens.

I say Franklin all the way, he was underprepared last time, thats not gonna happen this time.
He still lost. Franklin is a warrior just for fighting him again. Franklin did much better against the clinch this time but Silva is just too vicious & skilled to be stopped. I'm not sure if he can be prepared for. UFC signed Ryo Chonan(beat Silva b4 w/flying heel hook), but I doubt he can beat Silva now

I still think Dan Henderson can beat him. Heno's GNP is to be respected.

Dan's LightHvy now though right?

Do you think that fight is legit? I refuse to believe Daiju Takase/Silva is legit.

He will be dropping down to middle weight. LH is too much weight for'em.

I'm having mixed thoughts about all Pride fights right now. Heard they had Yakuza ties.

he decided not to drop in a recent interview. he wants to stay at LHW. Hendo was upset about losing to Rampage. he watched the fight several times and believes that he won and i actually agree. i thought it was gonna be a split dec for Hendo.

i dont see anyone defeating Hendo if he moves down to MW.

i remember watching this. it's legit from what i remember.

the only pride fight that i know of that was fixed was Coleman vs Takada. i heard Coleman apologized and did it for the money.

So Fedor is with M-1 with an open contract that will allow him to fight in the UFC.That is freekN awesome!

Yeah, i got that fight. That hook seemed to pretty to me... No way of knowing though.
There has always been a lot of talk about Pride's works.

i'm glad M1 exists. i've always preferred the ring over the octagon.

I didn't see the fight, so I can't really comment it. I was hoping Franklin would pull it out because I like him better, and because that was his last fight on his UFC contract, and if he won that pretty much meant a guranteed extension.

About Fedor having an open contract. It kinda makes you wonder about what Couture real motives were for retiring. It couldn't have been money. I read he had like a 15 million dollar deal with UFC. He was the 2nd highest paid fighter in UFC, and now that its been revealed Fedor has an open contract, he coulda fight Fedor. Very strange.

Ken Shamrock 1st fight in Pride were he was completely dominating, i mean dominating the whole fight and he just quit. Literally stopped fighting for no reason at all.

You got the Takada/Coleman fight... I thought Frye/Yoshida had a bad smell to it.
