Out of curiousity, how would anyone rate Bob Sapp? He seems like he'd be a mad fighter, but not so much when there are rules and regulations.-AC
He is a cool guy though. I find his fights entertaining to say the least. If he would train more seriously, he really could be a dominant fighter. Combining his size and strength with skill would make him dangerous.

anyone getting ready for the event?i'm not gonna watch this one, but i hope Vera KO's Sylvia.
I have a bad feeling that Vera is going to lose. Vera seems a bit overconfident from what I've seen from him lately.
I am rooting for Anderson as well, but Rich doesn't strike me as the type of guy not to learn from a loss. It'll be an amazing fight, I think all the fights will be good tonight.
I enjoyed the event.
Stephan Bonnar vs Schafer- This fight went pretty much as I expected with Bonnar dominating. I've always liked Bonnar and I'm glad he won. Anyone else notice how similarly Bonnar and Griffin fight?
Belcher vs Starnes- Impressive showing from Belcher. It's unfortunate he won via cut, but Belcher was man handling Starnes anyway. Nice striking from him. I think Belcher may be someone to look out for in the future.
Sylvia vs Vera-

Franklin vs Silva- WOW. Silva is just the anti Franklin. He even dropped his hands and just dodged for parts of the fights. Silva didn't even look serious. He is untouchable right now. Why didn't he do this stuff back in Pride? I still give accolades to Franklin though. He showed up and fought hard, but Silva is just on another level. They are both stand up guys though and deserve respect. Silva even bowed 4 times to the very crowd that boooed him.
On a side note, it looks like Sylvia vs Nogueira is in the works. I wouldn't mind seeing that myself. Sylvia kept saying that Vera "hasn't been tested". Maybe Sylvia needs to "get tested" against some better heavywieights.
Vera broke his left hand in round 1 during the fight. regardless, he was going to lose this. i was just hoping he would KO Sylvia.
Okami's contract is done, and i dont think UFC wants to renew it. MacDonald before the fight said the only reason their fight is not on the ppv is cuz UFC says Okami is a boring fighter.
I like Okami, and i would like to see a rematch against Silva. Hopefully it happens.

I'm not sure if he can be prepared for. UFC signed Ryo Chonan(beat Silva b4 w/flying heel hook), but I doubt he can beat Silva now
I say Franklin all the way, he was underprepared last time, thats not gonna happen this time.

I still think Dan Henderson can beat him. Heno's GNP is to be respected.

Do you think that fight is legit? I refuse to believe Daiju Takase/Silva is legit.
Originally posted by Caps Consciencehe decided not to drop in a recent interview. he wants to stay at LHW. Hendo was upset about losing to Rampage. he watched the fight several times and believes that he won and i actually agree. i thought it was gonna be a split dec for Hendo.
He will be dropping down to middle weight. LH is too much weight for'em.
i dont see anyone defeating Hendo if he moves down to MW.

the only pride fight that i know of that was fixed was Coleman vs Takada. i heard Coleman apologized and did it for the money.

So Fedor is with M-1 with an open contract that will allow him to fight in the UFC.That is freekN awesome!

I didn't see the fight, so I can't really comment it. I was hoping Franklin would pull it out because I like him better, and because that was his last fight on his UFC contract, and if he won that pretty much meant a guranteed extension.
About Fedor having an open contract. It kinda makes you wonder about what Couture real motives were for retiring. It couldn't have been money. I read he had like a 15 million dollar deal with UFC. He was the 2nd highest paid fighter in UFC, and now that its been revealed Fedor has an open contract, he coulda fight Fedor. Very strange.
