ufc/pride

I got in UFC a couple of years back and being loving it ever since. While Ive seen Pride and K1 in occasions, it hasnt been at the same level as how I watch UFC in which I know who the fighters are. That said, When UFC got Pride it was a chance for me to see these Pride guys in action and Ive heard/read a good deal about them, how good they are and what not. So far Ive been disappointed. first by Mirco Cro Cop and now by Shogun. Rampage being the exception. I like Forrest Griffin but I dont think he is a great fighter and he dominated Shogun pretty much all the way and Cro Cop has been an embarrassment so far. Im looking forward to seeing more Pride guys but so far I aint impressed.

rumor clarified, Shogun does not have cerebral hematoma.

Seems like Forrest/Jardine 2 for title shot would be more feasible... Guess not.

Shogun fought like he was a rookie to MMA, and just started to train.
His shoots were terrible, I don't even know if he threw any real punches/kicks

Anyway, I still don't get why the fans are such dicks. I fail to see the Machida fight, as something that deserved to get booed at. In my opinion, it was one of the best one sided fights, or fights that night.

Also, I want to see Arlovski/Couture.

Anyway, let's summarize it.
Chuck - lost 2 fights in a row.
Cro Crop - lost 2 fights in a row.
Shogun - Already lost his first fight.
Sanchez - Lost his last two fights.

Wow...

Anyway, I fail to see Rogan's comments of Forest being one of the best in the world, and his Tito Ortiz fight, had him losing, while Tito barely threw anything.
On another note, I'd laugh my ass off, if he knocked out Rampage.
I guess it's possible now though...

I kind of don't want to see Fedor go to UFC... I mean, he'd probably fight someone completely out of his league, like Eddie Sanchez or something, and gas, and get KO'ed.
He's the best fighter in the world, but in UFC, it means nothing right now. Something's wrong, is all I'm saying...

read an interview, Dana said Fedor will compete in Russian Sambo back home, but after the tournament, Fedor is ALMOST guranteed a signing with UFC and an immediate title shot.

thus far, im shocked that Pride has only a few successful fighters. Rampage, Anderson Silva and Nog.

Herring, Cro Cop, Shogun, Nakamura, Aurelio have all been dissapointing.

I think part of the problem might be due to the fact that they didn't test for steroids in PRIDE.For all we know Shogun was juiced up the whole time he was in Japan.

I honestly didn't expect much of Herring or Aurelio. It's Crocop and Shogun I am truly shocked at. Nakamura was fighting someone really tough right of the bat in a new ruleset. I don't really hold it against him for loosing a decision to Machida. However, Crocop got straight up knocked out by a low tier and Shogun was choked out.

I think we'll see after a couple of more fights. I still haven't given up on them yet.

I think Rogan was trying to say that Forrest Griffin has the potential to be one of the best in the world, I agree with that.

Jardine salary for that Chuck fight is joke, thats just gotta be the base and not inlude bonuses, which would include a winning bonus.

the diaz-gomi situation was the other way. Diaz won and was positive for marijuana.

This is so dumb..... You can all the steroids and HGH you want but for the love of God please don't smoke some weed. Hypocrits......

^^^^By Pride standards maybe, but the UFC has always had a firm policy against steriods and HGH abuse.

Juicing should be legal in sports... The more violent the better.

I'm starting to agree that juicing should be legal. I'm still torn on the issue though.

What are all of your opinions on Machida? Do you think he should get a title shot? How do you think he'd fare against Jackson if he did? Does he still need bigger wins on his record? Is he boring?
