Yea, I just thought I’d bring this issue up because last night it was the main topic on this talk radio show I listen to on occasion entitled, “The John and Jeff show”, and the topic had me pondering deeply because they were talking about sexual harassment but with an emphasis on women who’ve abused the system, merely out of spite or for a dozen other reasons. And I just felt for any for guy who’s been a victim, man. It must suck hard losing it all, your job, your reputation, a criminal record, your dignity, maybe even your family over an false accusation, (but that’s if you didn’t do it) and so maybe I thought I’d raise awareness with the guys on KMC and remind them to play by the book with women at work. Remember, it’s their word against yours. Any random woman can yell rape and point at you, but it wont matter if you did it or not, your life is over. You now have that stigma for the rest of your life. Look at those kids from Duke. Guilty or not, they’re done, man. I mean throw the book at ‘em if they did it, but if they’re found not guilty, my heart goes out to those dudes and their families. Cause it might be over for them.
Nevertheless, there was this one caller who did fight back and won. This dude, a former manager, said that he was let go because this woman falsely accused him of sexual harassment, so when he comes back from vacation and returns to work, he noticed how strangely everyone was acting towards him. Moments later, he was called into his boss’s office, he was told about the situation and was let go. He then sued the company for wrongful termination, for not thoroughly investigating, and won the lawsuit. The amount he won? 4 years salary. The settlement? $300,000. Good for him.
He remembered that the week before leaving for his vaca, the woman had actually tried to make an advance towards him but he rejected her and in turn, she became upset and noticeably hostile towards him ever since, so he returned to the onslaught and was let go, to his surprise. He was devastated. He couldn’t believe it. His marriage, everything was on the rocks because of it. And that’s when he took action.
What had happened was that the woman was saying that during the overnight shift, which she worked, the manager guy would call her and hit on her and talk about sex and stuff like that. He said it never happened and had proof. He somehow managed to obtain all the phone records from the phones she claimed was used by her and the manager. There wasn’t a single trace of evidence on record of any recorded phone call during the time she said the allegations occurred. He lost his job that he loved, of course but at least he was compensated, rightfully. I mentally applauded him for having the testicular fortitude to stand up to the bs some people try to pull off sometime. Be careful at those jobs, guys. Or be taken.
