Big news, Culter will replace the total loser that is plummer.

The Denver Broncos quarterback controversy is headed for a resolution.

Head coach Mike Shanahan will turn to rookie Jay Cutler to replace incumbent Jake Plummer for the rest of the season, starting with the team's Dec. 3 game against Seattle.

The Denver Post first reported the change Sunday, and team sources confirmed to ESPN's Chris Mortensen that Cutler will take over. ESPN.com's John Clayton said there's "no question" Cutler will be the starter against the Seahawks.

Plummer has struggled all season despite leading the Broncos to a 7-4 record. Denver ranks 26th in the NFL with 171.5 pass yards per game and is tied for 21st in the league with 17.7 points per game. Plummer's passer rating of 70.5 is 29th in the league, ahead of only Bruce Gradkowski (70.1), Drew Bledsoe (69.2), Matt Leinart (68.1), Vince Young (56.1), and Andrew Walter (55.0).

That's not the most prestigious list. Bledsoe was benched after six games for Dallas in favor of Tony Romo; Gradkowski, Leinart, and Young are all rookies; and Walter is in his first year as a starter.

Plummer, meanwhile, is in his 10th season and has started 46 straight games for the Broncos since 2003 but has been unable to get the offense moving in 11 games this year.

You just dont do this when you are in the playoff hunt, especially with a rookie quarterback.

Tony Romo isn't a rookie, but Cutler is and this is a HUGE mistake. He should have just let Plummer finish off the season. Think about, why do this when you're in the playoff hunt? Make no sense to me at all.

You never know, it might work.

I can’t believe they are going after Plummer so much, his numbers are close to Elway’s who “can’t do no wrong”, the only difference is that he won more games. To me that sounds more like a team problem then a QB. I live in Colorado and that is all any one can talk about and I’m also from Arizona where Plummer first started playing. They dogged on him there too but the Cardinals sucked A$$.

I was sitting, expecting a very fun, bloody, knock them out and especially dirty, muddy, rainy game at Foxboro....and what I see....the Pats have field turf...what the **** is this.

I HATE FIELD TURF. Why dont we just put the players in little pink tutoo's and curtsey everybody when the play is over.

I didnt relize that the Pats turned into the Colts.

if you dont think your current guy can win a championship it makes sense. Yea maybe the current guy can do enough to allow the team to make the playoffs, but when he has no ability to do the extra to get a championship it makes sense. Plummer has been terrible for a long time.

Man, Giants are seriously shooting themselves in the foot. As I said before, a couple of weeks ago it looked like the Giants were easily the top team in the East....and I dont think thats the case now.
I guess it all comes down to next weeks game for the winner of the division.

I was discussing this Bronco QB thing with my Steeler friends yesterday while we watched that debacle that occurred at PSINETampax.net stadium, and what forum is saying is exactly what we came to a consensus on. And I actually like Plummer, but Bronco fans are tired of losing year in and year out in the playoffs in horrid fashion. Things have got to change.

A quick note regarding the Bears strategy for the playoffs. To avoid yet another Divisional Playoff embarrassment like those that occurred in 2001 and 2005, I would suggest throwing 20-25 moonballs to Berrien in order to pass interference their way down the field. If they don't use their most valuable weapon against quality teams, chalk up another one.

Yeah, even though that was a bad call. I would say that Berrien impeded the prograss of Hobbs for the INT.

I dont think Chicago can do it. Once the run offense falls flat, they're done. I think Dallas could easily beat Chicago.

You dont replace the NFL's most accurate kicker with him, you just don't do that.

And now they're back to worry about their kicker, just like last season.

This is definitely a bad move on their parts.

he is not the NFL's most accurate kicker. He has the career record for it, but take all Kickers stats over the last 2 years and see where he ranks, I bet hes pretty low. He is 12/18 this year and many of those 12 barely got in. Hes a total loser.

Stevens is also a loser.

Forum, your somewhat biased when it comes to Vanderjagt. Granted, he isnt the kicker he was, but he is still a heck of alot better than the replacement. He was actually doing well with kickoffs too.

In the past two years he has missed 7 fieldgoals out of 50. This year he isnt what he was, but has made 13 out of 18 with one block. So, pretty much its around 13 out of 17, which isnt horribly bad.

Vinteneri is roughly around the same as Vanderjagt, but with a tad bit more kick attempts.
Akers, Elam and others are worst than Vanderjagt in the past two years, so the only problem has been this year.

Overall, Vanderjagt isnt what he was, but he is heck of alot better than Gramatica. I think it was the wrong move on the Cowboy's part, and retarded to think that the replacement will give any sort of closure.

But you never know, it might work out, but please dont use your biases to say that it was the right move because he is a losers.

Was nice to see the Seahawks get things back on track today. With Hasselbeck and Alexander playing again, they look as good as last year. Granted, Hasselbeck threw 3 interceptions. But I think he got past that and played great in the 2nd half

im really not that biased. I mean i wasnt a colts fan when he blew it for them. Im mostly biased against people who dont perform. Although I did have a dislike for him, because of his mouth. I just dont think he has it any more. I am biased against the guy in terms of respect because he thinks hes someone like LT, or manning. Yea he had a good career, but ever since that miss in the playoffs he just doesnt seem to have any business being in the NFL anymore. Hes kicking the worst ever of his career, and he missed under 30 yards for the first time in 4 years, and he did it twice. He also cant be relied upon for anything over 40 yards which just isnt gonna cut it.

Now I dont know if cutting him is the right move, that depends on gramaticas ability to kick from 40 yards, if he can do it with even 60% acuracy id say its the right move.

oh yea they also said a big part of the reason was he was barely making a lot of the 13 he did mange to make.
