The Ravens defense allow the Colts to gain too much yards. Allowing them to score field goals. For a defense that was second on the league in not allowing their opponents to gain yards...their performance does suck. I said that about the Colts because it's the truth...they didn't score any TD. The victory of the game is thanks to Vinny not Manning. Manning wasn't under pressure...yet he couldn't score a TD? I mean the game was terrible. The Colts gain to many rush yards and not a single TD.

But couldnt that be the reason because of how well the Raven's played defense.

Yards in a playoff game dont matter. It's the score. Even though the Ravens let yards on them, they still only kept Manning and Co to field goals. That's pretty damn good to me.

It's soooo funny about the Colts in the playoffs. First people complaing that Colts suck because all they do is score points, but not keep points off the board. So when the Colts actually play sound defense and WIN the game, (instead of losing), people complain that Manning sucks because he didnt score enough TD's. Who ****ing cares. The Colts won the game pretty handily and if it was against any other team, they would of scored TD's. But the Ravens defense played a pretty good game but not allowing the Colts to score on them and keeping the game close. It was the Ravens offense that let them down.

Isnt the mantra for the NFL playoffs is too play good run defense and good run offense, and if I'm not mistaken, many pundits said that the Colts were going to lose in the first round because they couldnt stop the run and relied to heavily on Manning. So now, your saying the Colts suck because they didnt score 30 points?

I dont like the Colts, at all.

The only team I can consistantly watch is the Bears, and I am a huge fan.

Also though, if I had to choose my other favorites, the Ravens because of Ed Reed and company, the Broncos because of Cutler, Bailey, and the used to be Smashmouth D, the giants not really, but Shockey is my favorite TE and maybe receiver, Phili with Garcia is entertaining. The Saints uni's and the way they play is entertaining. The colts somewhat because I want Manning to get his championship and Bob Sanders is a madman.

If it came down to one team in each conference.

Bears and Ravens. Rest are disposable.

Oh don't worry about Forumcrew, he likes to throw that word around not realizing some of the things he has said on these boards make him a bandwagon too, which would make him a hypocrite.

God damn*t I hate Tom Brady. They were talking on TV like he was a saint again, when the Pats got every break in the game and still only managed to beat the Chargers.

I heard a comment about how poised he was after regaining that INT he threw (on the fumble immediately afterward). It's his job to shrug it off and continue. But apparently it's also ok to throw picks and hope to get lucky (like they did), and the Sportcenter guys will still call you a god.

He's a good QB, but it was a horrible game. Brady plays like that again and they'll be going home.

....

And who says no one likes the Pack? They're my favorite NFC team.

If I recall correctly Brady rarely loses games inside a dome. Could really damp the Colts spirit. Sorry, I respect the Colts, but they aren't as scary as SD was. They beat a fraud team in KC who backed into the playoffs. Then went on to beat the Ravens with field goals. Manning is really gonna have to step up for this game.

My vote remains unchange...Patriots will be in Superbowl this year.

Chiefs didn't back into the playoffs.

And they beat the 13-3 Ravens too.

you dont understand. I said no one likes Green Bay AND Chicago. Not or. Both teams have a TON of fans. But not fans of BOTH Teams.

What makes me a badnwagon fan by the way lord evolution? THe only teams I really care about are the seahawks in NFL, Mariners in MLB, and Duke in NCAA basketball. I was raised on all 3 of those teams watching them since I understud sports. (I was born in washington lived in NC for a while (all there is there is basketball and nascar) and then back to washington.

The fact that Manning is due for a big game, and there defense is defending the run so well makes them more scarier than SD imo, but you can also say the same thing with the Pats, they're playing great as a team and Brady is due for a big game as well, I'm still rooting for Dungy tho.

That's suprising to me, all the "experts" where picking the eagles, and they usually go with the favored teams because they're too chicken shit to take chances.

I can go with people saying Manning is due for a big game, but...what if he doesn't have it? If that's the case, the Pats will not be playing catchup and will be able to run the ball. If the Colts sputter out of the gate come Sunday, I would be shocked if the following two things do not happen:
1) Brady throws fewer than 40 attempts
2) NE runs for 150+ yards

I don't see Belichick NOT being able to exploit this so-called Colt's run defense. Forget Edwards' and Billick's predictable approaches. Belichick excels at going after your weakness repeatedly - to the point of ramming the point down your throat. For example, opening day 2002, when the Steelers came off that 13-3 season, we all knew the secondary was the weakness for the Steeler's defense, and what does Belichick do? Gets Brady to throw 20-something times in a row (and most of them were completions). New England won easily.

However, if Manning's on, it might be a shootout and I could see it being something like 42-38 Colts.

If Manning plays bad, or starts off poorly I don't see how thats gonna effect the Colts run defense, but I think Bellichick is going to try and establish Brady in the passing game before he tries to establish his running game.

😕

I know I hate predictions, but sometimes it's hard to resist:
Regarding the NFC matchup, I was talking with one of my buds last night, and we both thought that Grossman was going to be faced with about 7 or 8 "must-have" throws of 10 yards-to-go or more. We thought that even with the weather conditions (High of 34 with some snow) that the Saints will get 2 or 3 touchdowns by early third quarter, thus forcing the Bears into a slight comeback mode. Putting Grossman in these situations early - he was only in a couple of these last week, late in the game - favors the Saints.

I'd probably go:
New Orleans 24, Chicago 13
New England 30, Indianapolis 28 (Vinatieri's streak ends with missed 77-yarder 😱 as time expires)

hahaha missed 77 yarder. I agree with your post a couple up about the run game. Beyond Billick approach the ravens problem was they dont have a RB with a great deal of talent anymore. Jamal lewis has just never been the same after going to jail.

But I just feel like the Colts will win, mostly because they have to or manning might kill himself. And I think impending suicide would be a good motivator.

hahaha yeah..... i think it is too.

The Ravens stink. No kind of offense whatsoever. My 8yr. old nephew can run Baltimore's horridly offense. Any QB can hand the ball off. When they got McNair they're offense should have improved instead it is the same old tired offense.

The Raven's offense doesnt stink that bad. People are being over-dramatic. They're not great, but serviceable. If they stink soo bad, there is no way in hell the team gets the second bye. And dont tell me its just the defense.
