Saints vs Colts

Rematch of the 2007 season opener. If that game is even remotely close, I'm picking the Saints to win the Super Bowl. If the Colts blow them out I got the Colts winning it.

I just don't see the Bears returning to the Super Bowl, they lost Tank Johnson and Jones, plus Rex Grossman is STILL their QB. After them you have the Cowboys, who I think will be playing the Saints in the NFC championship.

I'm picking the Colts because I think they'll have the best regular season record, but if they don't and end playing at NE in the playoffs then I got the Patriots going to the Super Bowl.

One thing of note from the game last night. They mentioned that the Saints #3 QB Jason Fife was a kid actor. I looked him up, and he was Camper #1 in the movie "Addams Family Values."

Awesome.

Lucky guy. Was in a movie and has played 1 preseason game.

My favourite quote last night, and I barely watched 2 minutes was the announcer saying, " People dont think preseason is important but to the guys trying to get a team, this game is very important for a job, (at this time, Fife throws a wobbler to the FB and almost gets intercepted), but if you do what he just did, well, you aint getting on the team". It was pretty humourous.

I'm happy. The only day I have off is Thursday and it just happens to be the Cowboys opening game against Indy in preseason, and then the next day off is next Tuesday, just in time for Madden 08. YEAH!!!

I was pleased to have read this today...

The New Orleans Saints are a legitimate Super Bowl contender if they can remain healthy. If the takeaways can increase it will be hard for any team to outscore them. Look for a 11+ wins and a division title at least.

I'd give Sean Payton's crew a 70 and the running backs a 75. I'd also give the Linebackers and Secondary a combined 50.

I think I would rate their back field a bit higher than that.

My Steelers looked solid as hell in the preseason opener. I realize preseason means nothing, but it was fun to watch (with a Saints fan and a couple other Steelers fans, no less). We re-wound the sweet Steelers plays on my HD to rub it in.

I actually don't have a ton of faith in Ben....and it really wasn't him that won us our Super Bowl. But our D and running game are still strong, and we have talent at wide receiver. Ben will have a larger role but still doesn't need to be a star. I'm worried about our division, because we haven't gotten a ton better and the Ravens/Bengals are still strong. But I guess we'll see.
