He hasnt done anything for the Falcons before he pleaded guilty, and once out, what team would sign him to play knowing they have an convicted criminal on thier team. Protesters and groups will have a shitfit .

For those of you that don't know this, the league has made a rule change in an attempt to speed up the games. This year, if the kicking team is offsides on the kickoff, they will simply tack 5 yards on to the end of the run as opposed to re-kicking.
This was not a well thought-out rule.
What's to prevent teams from sending all 10 coverage men to say, the 30 yard line, kick-off, and have them tackle the return man immediately at the 5 or 10 yard line? Guaranteed bad field position for your oppenent.
If the return team blocks the coverage team before the ball is put into play, is it a dead-ball personal foul? I dunno.
Anyway, my example used over-exaggeration. Realistically, if I'm a coach, I send my 10 guys offsides, and I mean WAY offsides, as in five yards. They'll be there to clean the returner's clock at the 15.
Alright, I've done some more research, and it appears the returning team has an option for a re-kick. In the past, you could not tack on the yardage, as you had to rekick.
In the preseason game where this happened, apparantly the coach did not want a re-kick even though he got the ball at the 18 because it was a meaningless preseason game, which makes sense.
Yeah, I dont know if it should quicken games though because it doesnt happen very often, but its a good rule change noneless.
I know the exact thing to quicken games up and thats to remove the ****ing commercials from the kickoff. I dont understand why there is a commericial between the kickoff and when the offense goes back on.
Agreed. The offense may be all pumped to go and get a winning or tying score...and they have to wait for Bud Light commercials featuring partygoers who seem to be so involved in their party that they are completely ignoring the game on the TV.
p.s. that commercial break also sucks when you're at the game, too.

I assume they have it to hold up thier contract with advertising agencies but I would rather have during half time, a 5 minute window of crappy halftime show and all commericials and then have those ****ing kickoff commercials.
Do it like soccer on where the halftime is all commercials aside from a 2 minute spot and during those kickoffs have a commercial running in the background on two screens like they do with the Canadian Tire commercials. (obviously you wouldnt know what those are but they're basically an 10 second spot of advertising which happens during a break of play.
That's why I've always found it funny when announcers say a defense is getting tired by staying on the field too long. Yeah they're getting tired when there are five minute commercial breaks after every kick off, timeout, punt, touchdown, instant replay. The endless commercials are one of the big reasons why I sometimes stop watching the NFL for a period of time as I'll remember the shitty Coors Light commercial more than the actual game.
And thats why your not in charge.
If going by what you would do, I would never watch the NFL because of that reason and I would think the majority of people wouldnt watch the NFL for that same reason and without those viewers, guess what, you wont get that massive amount of money that company is giving you.

Yeah, I would unless its an Cowboy game, but even then, I still dont think I would watch it.
I dont like watching the CFL because of that reason. Too many 2 and outs and then commercials. Not fun at all.

I've never heard of this. So this would be like, while they're huddling, the commercial is superimposed over the background? Or is it like a box in the upper left-hand corner? Or does the 10-second spot take up the entire screen (commercial-style) and then it would revert back to the action when they're approaching the line of scrimmage?
