The coach pulls the official aside and says, "I'm going to call timeout right before the snap" like they do in college. Even if the kicking team knew about it, they have no choice but to go through with the kick or else risk a delay of game penalty.

I have a feeling, since now it has finally affected Al Davis, that this issue will be addressed in the offseason.

Yeah it should be.

Totally unfair.

The Saints defense sucks. Nothing else. Their front four, which should be its strength is not getting anywhere near the QB, and that is totally destroying that secondary. Doesnt help that they have one of the worst LB crew in the league with 2 Dallas rejects.

Offense, looks like Colston might not be the number 1 because now, everybody is double teaming him (not that way you sick, sick man), and Henderson isnt second WR material. After that, nonbody is on that team. What happened to Meachem? Is he injured.

Bush, from what I've seen has done nothing, while the guy who doesnt get all the praise is doing well, extremely well that is and thats Addai.

They'll probably go 15-1, but not perfect. I ****ing hope they dont go perfect.

Looking at the first quarter of the game tonight and it's obvious that the Chargers are going to be 1 dimensional. They dont have the talent on WR to really make teams worry about it and Rivers has not looked good in the past two weeks, granted against good defense.

And what was the problem with TO's TD celebration? Why did it warrent the penalty?

Harrison hasnt even played yet think about that one!

So does anyone think last year the Saints were fueled by the emotion of returning to New Orleans? Or are they the real deal and are just getting off to a slow start?

I think they drank their own kool-aid a little too much, and forgot what made them successful. The defense regressed from last year (they lived off of turnovers anyway and were never truly good) and they're attempting to throw too much. All of their passes are also very short...they don't stretch the field at all, which allows defenses to play tight.

The talent is there (on offense at least), and they weren't a fluke. But you still have to diversify your offense and execute properly, both of which they haven't done.

I didnt think the Saints were the real deal last year. They were a new explosive offense that people hadnt really seen before. Their was terrible then as it is now. Now everyone has seen them for a full year and had an off season to study what they do so they have to step up their offense to the next level again and they are missing some parts to be able to do that. Also its just extremely hard to be a play off quality team year after year. Look at Det, Oak, Houston, GB (yea yea oak lost twice but still) the point is bad teams get better and even the worst teams have good games (Browns scoring 51 anyone). Its a thing called Parity it makes the NFL great.

I dont think they have the talent to contend with the high NFC teams.

Yeah, Bree's is great, but from what I've seen, he must of gotten hit by a ****ing brick or something because all his INT's were his fault and horrible. RB's are good and line is good too, but they're WR's are overrated. Colston is good, but isnt great and Henderson, I have no idea why some people put him in with some of the better WR's out there.

They might turn it around but when you get blown out twice by Indy and TB, something is wrong and its not just coaching, or being complacent.

Botankus is correct. Every year we see a team or two that does really well that year, and then next, pundits label them as one of the best teams in the league, and how many times does that team always disappoint. Remember, the Saints still have the same guys on the team minus Joe Horn.

Getting Jemarcus would be nice. Are we even trying to get him though?

nah that was just my crazy talk. Also Falcons have met with Leftwhich and are deciding on whether to sign him or not. I think it would be stupid to sign him for ATL cause even with a better QB they dont have a playoff team right now.

*To Forum, Smas and Digi*

I think the Saints have a good offense that just isn't clicking right now. I do agree their D wasn't that great last year though. I agree with what Forum said, teams have had a year to study them and they aren't surprising teams anymore. But I have heard they have been giving Bush more carries instead of using him as a role player. If I was Peyton and had McCallister in the backfield I'd run him 80 - 90% of the time.

Atlanta never had any real "weapons" other than Vick, Crumpler and if you want to count him, Dunn. Just my opinion.

Plus their receivers couldn't catch a cold last year. Haven't seen much of them except highlights to see if that's changed.

Rumors are swirling that Byron Leftwich may be signing with the Falcon.

You heard they were giving Bush more carries? He ran 12 times in the first game and 10 in the second, I'm pretty sure he averaged more than 11 carries last season. They need to run the ball more and stop splitting carries right down the middle for Bush and Deuce. They both had 10 carries each last game, that is ridiculous. First they need to run the ball more and second they need to stop having Bush in on one play then Deuce in on the next. Also they either need to utilize Bush more either on swing passes, runs or even as a decoy. Him being used a decoy is what opened up opportunities for other players last year. It definitely helped open up running lanes for Deuce. But they aren't even doing that this year. Even losing Joe Horn isn't going to stop Sean Payton from calling 50 pass plays per game.

They need to get back to what they were doing last year. I don't buy into this "fueled by emotion" shit. They were "fueled by getting Bush, Brees and Colston". And as soon as they get back to what they were doing, then they will be successful and I think by the end of the season some of you will be eating your words because I believe they will turn it around and start winning once they start playing some home games.

But this is what they need to do:

Run Deuce more
Run Bush more
Use Bush as decoy
Kill teams on the playaction

Also Bush should go back and see what he was doing in the second half of last season. Because what I see form him now is what I seen from him at the beginning of last season, way too much of trying to fake one defender out. Late last seaosn it was pretty much one fake and boom he shot up the middle. I see the holes are still there but he wants to run straight to the outside and try to beat his defenders to the sidelines. He has to eastablish himself as a runner who will blaze through a hole if it's there, and not one whose first thought is to jet to the sideline. That's why he was so successful late last season, but it seems that he has regressed.

I think they will still end up winning their division and going to the NFC championship.

This is funny.

Payton is considered an genius at calling plays (I consider him to very, very good playcaller) last year, and now he is considered to be shit?

Could thier be the reason of the Saints maybe, not living up to expectations?

The guy is not a good play caller. Lets go back to the NFC championship game, horrible play calling by him. They are in the snow, usually teams like to pound the ball in the snow, but this guy throws over 50 times and runs only 12 times....when the game was close! It was close coming into the 4th quarter, yet almost every down he called a pass play, with no success I might add. With the exception of the 88 yard TD by Bush(which was all him) they had absolutely no success through the air. And when he did call running plays they did really good. He did a bad job of recognizing that stopping the run was the Bears weak point. They just came off a game in which Shaun Alexander tore them a new ass hole, he was the very reason why that game was even close.

If you think he is good play caller then you are crazy. They need to get an offensive coordinator calling plays, because the plays they are running right now baffles me. When will this guy realize that throwing the ball as many times as they are isn't working? Hopefully it wont be too late.

He was great in Dallas as the playcaller, and obviously calling plays last year did the Saints pretty well.

Could it be just the case of having an team that might not be as good as you think it is, and having a player like Bush, who you think is one of the best players in the league, but could be a tad overrated?

Could it be that your ignoring what I'm typing? Could it be that your not watching them play but are only looking at the end result? Could it be that they are highly talented on offense but are subject to bad play calling? Could it be, o could it be?

Not only did he kick a 65-yarder in warmups, but his 52-yard miss (second try) in OT hit the very TOP of the goal post!

Last night game proves Donovan McNabb is overrated.
