NFL Talk

Okay then, sorry about the misunderstanding.my apologies.yeah I'll have to talk about martyball and the kansas city clowns at this other message board I post at instead because yeah they dont have the interest in it that I do here.LOL. Im just glad he is finally gone from the chargers who went from being my favorite team for so many years to being my most hated team after he got there, now I can love them again.

But what I was saying in that post is that would be a good point if you were comparing who the Chargers played LAST YEAR in the playoffs and who the Chargers played this year, but the Patriots arent the team I was comparing them to.What I AM comparing them to is what team the Chargers played in Martys FIRST playoff loss with the Chargers and who Norv beat in his first playoff victory with the Chargers, which is the ONLY fair thing to do.And that proves that Marty, even when playing a team not all that great, loses in the playoffs despite having extremely talented players.

Heres the comparison-Martys FIRST playoff game with the Chargers was in 2004 against the Jets.It also was a wild card first round game at home. The Jets coach back then was 'HERM THE WORM' Herman Edwards.
Who Chiefs fans here in Kansas city want axed and actually would prefer to have Marty back coaching instead of him if they had a choice to choose from.Edwards has turned the Chiefs into the worst team in the NFL next to only the Miami Dolphins. The Kansas City Clowns is the name they really should have now, especially now..LOL. You dont think Edwards is a good coach do you?LOL. Jeff Fisher-like him or hate him,you cant argue is a pretty good coach.

The Jets back then under Herm Edwards werent that good of a team, and really didnt belong in the playoffs.I can bring up posts from back then if you like of people who agreed with me as well that the Jets werent that good of a team.Look at who their quarterback was back then and where he is now.Chad Pennington who is now a backup for them.He never did play very well with the Jets when he got into playoff games.

what I was saying in that post was giving examples on how Marty made asinine decisons that cost the Chargers that game in 2004 just like he did last year against the Patriots as well.

Norv didnt make any asinine decisions in that playoff game last week and just let the players play their game and they won just as a sidenote.

so it really doesnt matter WHO the opponent is that Marty coaches against in playoff games. He finds ways to blow it for his teams everytime even if they are a team not all that great like the Jets werent back then,he finds a way to screw it up and blow it for his teams. He did it against the Jets and did it against the Patriots last year as well.

Thats why I said from the beginning, that the next coach the Chargers would get, that they would start winning playoff games.Like that sportswriter said,Marty would have been real conservative and kept on running Tomlinson more than likely, and would have found a way to blow it for them against the Titans.

as i said,I sure am grateful that A.J. smith was smart enough to look at Martys past playoff failures in the past and realise that he cant win games when he gets into the playoffs. That he is ONE AND DONE.

Smith realised that COACHING is what made Marty lose those games against the jets and patriots.NOT the players and that if his Chargers were ever to win a playoff game,it would never come with Marty no matter WHO the opponent was after watching Marty cost them both those games.

yeah baby, now that martyball isnt around to screw it up for them,if not this year, one of these upcoming yers their going to the superbowl and are going to win the thing baby. 💃

You still have Norv Turner......

He might not be Marty howoever you spell his last name, but you aint got Tony Dungy, or other quality coaches. It's still Norv Turner.

And I hate to say it, but last weeks win showed absolutly nothing about the Chargers considering the Titans are extremely overrated.

And perhaps after the Chargers lose they'll also be overrated.

Yeah, I'm not sold on NorvBall, either, even if it was a playoff game against the almighty Titans.

Well hopefully the Colts will put an end to the Martyball and the Chargers. If the Colts don't then I know that the Almighty Patriots will kick the crap out of them.

Well yeah I wont argue with that but at least with Norv,I have hope that probably not this year, but in the next couple of years hopefully-thats the key word-Hopefully,something I have now for the Chargers with Turner, that they will be back and make it to the superbowl.I cant see them going up to new england and winning there, not THIS year. For the Colts game,if Gates cant play the entire game,I dont think they'll be able to win,but if he can play and he is healed, then I think they will.it all depends on that. But they'll never make it past the Patriots if they get that far.

With players like Gates,Lt,now chris chambers and Phillip Rivers emerging as a quarterback they can now rely on to come up with big plays for them on offense and with players like Merriman,Phillips and jammer on defense, this team has so much talent that I cant see them not eventually making it to the superbowl within the next couple of years with Turner.I've always said Turners not that good of a coach but he is a HUGE improvement over Marty though and wont make asinine mistakes like Marty always made that cost his teams playoff games.Because of that,I see them in the superbowl in the next couple of years.

Unlike in Basketball,in Football and in Baseball, you dont have to be a good coach to get your team in the playoffs and win the superbowl or world series when you got extremly talented players like that.Just look at Barry Switzer when he was with the Dallas Cowboys and replaced Jimmy Johnson.Switzer was an idiot,he wasnt a good coach but that didnt matter. The Cowboys had so much extreme talent on thier team that they could overcome having a dumb coach and make it back to the superbowl and win against the Pittsburgh Steelers. They eventually went downhill with Switzer but at that time, they still had enough talented players to get there despite Switzer. or as i have talked about before,Beleicheck isnt a good coach,he is highly over rated.without Brady,he would be NOTHING!!!

As I said,Turner unlike Marty will let his players play their game and not make asinine decisions that wind up costing them games in the playoffs.
we'll just have to wait and see in the next couple of years before we know for sure but because of instances like with Switzer and the cowboys,I just dont see them not making it there in that time frame with Norv with those talented players they have.

No argument there. No they'll never make it past the Patriots if they get that far and win up there in New England. This is the Patriots year.Their going to win it all.I would like to be wrong and see the Chargers spoil their undefeated season of course but I just dont see that happening. This seems to be the Patriots destiny this year to win it all.

UPDATE:::The Chargers lost one of the best TE's in the game today as Antonio Gates is not expected to play, but Marvin Harrison may finally play.

Damn.that being the case,if Marvin Harrison is ready to play and does, then I just cant pick my Chargers to win. 🙁

As Bill Simmons says, " For the Chargers to keep it close, they need TWO special teams touchdowns. Not one. Two. I can't even take this game seriously, especially after seeing Norv react in the last minute of the ugly Titans game like they had just won three Super Bowls at once.'

I use to think the Colts would always lose but after winning the Superbowl, tho whole, "Manning wont win in big games" is done and your going against Manning and surprisingly tough Indy D in Indy with Rivers.

Wow, I think everybody is taking the Giants over the Cowboys.....I dont know what to say. Hopefully, it doesnt come down it but if TO plays, you still have Romo throwing to TO, Crayton, Witten, Barber and Jones running the ball, healthy O-line, 2 weeks rest, healthy defense and also, Terry Mother****ing Glenn. Granted, he has been injured but I'm surprised everybody is taking the Giants. We'll see I guess.

It doesn't matter who wins becuase either one is losing next round no matter who they play.

Don't crown them just yet. Yes it is very likely, but I have a feeling that they could lose either this week or next. Not saying that they will, but they are beatable.

Seahawks lead 14-0 after two Ryan Grant fumbles, but their is way too much time for this one to be decided.

UPDATE: Just like that Favre threw a td. 14-7

Other than 2 nice hits to cause fumbles seattle is playing their worst D of the year.

Thats been going on since their very first victory. Anyhoo 1 down, two to go.

If the Colts win, I could easily see the Colts beating them. It will be very interesting.

26 for 28 is insane, especially when it should have been 27/28 if mr reliable welker didnt drop an easy one.
