NFL Talk

Aside from seeing enough material on horrible play-calling to write a mini-novel, I think I came to three revelations Saturday night.

1) I hate Tom Brady.
2) I hate midgets.
3) I hate guys with hyphenated names.

And Tom Brady's only got one of those characteristics.

Why Tom Brady about Sat night?

I got your other two, but what did Brady do, or hear about Brady that has to do with the game on Sat night?

Well, I've always hated Lord Brady, but only on Saturday night did I realize I disliked someone else even more so than His Highness himself.

And P.S.: Hating them doesn't mean I don't think they're great players.

I called it.Didnt I say months ago that with Marty the Moron gone from the Chargers that since the Chargers have a head coach now whos mind wont freeze up in the playoffs, that the chargers would win at LEAST one game in the playoffs now that they didnt have MARTYBALL around to mess it up for them anymore?LOL. Like I said, all the chargers needed to do was get rid of ONE AND DONE Marty, and they would at least win one playoff game this year if they got there.

They have had the colts number-they're next opponent, the last couple years so I expect them to win that game as well.they do THAT,then Norv will really be considered a HUGE upgrade over Marty.Bet all those Charger fans who at the beginning were chanting for Marty to come back when they had the 3 game losing streak in the beginning, feel like idiots now for ever wanting HIM back over Norv Turner.Turner isnt a great coach but he's better than Marty and he doesnt constantly make moronic decisions that cost the entire team from winning games in the playoffs like Marty always did.

Norv, unlike Marty, let the team play their game and they won.

For the chargers to beat the colts Tomlinson will need to get more than 42 yards on the ground and the potential loss of Antonio Gates will hurt.

that was the thing that was all the more impressive about the chargers victory is that they did it without Gates in the second half. But I have a feelling that Tomlinson will do better against the Colts than he did the Titans. The Titans seem to have LT'S number where the Colts have had problems with him.But yeah, your right, thats going to make it difficult for them without Gates.

for the love of god please learn to hit the space bar. You also have to look at who Marty lost to, and who Norv beat.

True.

I just wondering if somebody said something to tick you off....

I was assuming they were talking about him even though it was a Jags-Steelers game.

Well, one thing about the Steelers, they did give a good game and with the injuries they sustained, the almost comeback was pretty good.

Big Ben is like Romo, or Romo is like Big Ben. Awesome players who make plays, but somehow throw a ton of INT's also. Well, as a Cowboys fan that had the great QB's in the days, like Chad Hutchinson, Drew Henson, Quincy Carter, Anthony Wright and Ryan Leaf, I'll give a couple of INT's for plays.

If we were only talking about who Marty lost to last year and who Norv beat this year while with the Chargers you would have a good point there but thats not what I am talking about.I am talking about what Norv has accomplished in the playoffs since he has been with the Chargers and what Marty accomplished when he was with the Chargers in the playoffs when he was there and when you look at it that way,Norv is the better coach.

In 2004 in Martys first playoff game with the Chargers, the Chargers just like they did this year, hosted the wild card game and lost to the New York Jets and contrary to what you kept saying back then -and I can bring that quote up for you since i know its still here, the Jets were not that good of a team then and didnt belong in the playoffs that year .

Other people as i can prove if you like, agreed with me back then as well about that as I can also prove for you if you like. That was how I knew they would lose to the Pittsburgh Steelers in the second round the following week.

Guesss who the coach of the Jets was back then? Martys clone-"Herm The worm" Herman Edwards. Now coach of the kansas city chiefs who chiefs fan here in Kansas City, are calling for the ax on.They actually prefer Marty over Herm here and are asking HIM to come back and coach. 😆

Cant blame them,Herm the worm is the one Marty Clone out there who is actually even MORE conservative and predictable in his game plans then Marty is.Incredibly hard to believe but true. Herm back then had really talented players to make him look good.

You dont SERIOUSLY believe that Herm The worm is a good coach do you? He has made the Chiefs into the Kansas City Clowns again. 😆

I would say That Jeff Fisher is a hell of a lot more accomplished as a head football Coach then Herm the worm is and most people would agree on that.

ONE AND DONE Marty also is the one to blame for that jets playoff lost back then.Towards the last 2 minutes of regulation in that game, the Chargers were down by a field goal and they moved the ball from their own territory-cant remember how deep it was but Im think it was pretty deep territory, that they moved the ball from deep in their territory into Chargers territory and go the ball down to like the 30 yard line or so of the jets with like 30 seconds with no time outs I think.

What does Marty do? does he take a couple of chances throwing the ball 20 yards or so down the field close to the endzone to win the game? No.he decides to run the ball up the middle 3 straight times and run the claock out and settle for a field goal to take the game into overtime despite the fact that the jets could not stop them that entire two minute drive and the chargers had them on their heels grasping for their breath. 😆 This is the playoffs, you got to take chances and take your shots at the end zone especially with THAT many chances.

He also sometime in the game, ran onto the field protesting the officials call against one of his players they made that he didnt like and as a consequence of his actions, drew an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty against his team for that which was critical in that it gave the Jets excellent field position which they got a touchdown out of.

Chargers fans were infuriated with Marty for those costly asinine decisons that cost the chargers that playoff game that year . 😆

Did Norv make any asinine decisons that cost the chargers the Titans game? no he didnt. You look at what ONE AND DONE Marty did in his FIRST playoff appearance against the Jets and what Norv accomplished in his first playoff appearance with the chargers and what kind of decions they both made in those games,Norv is easily by far the better coach and if you asked Chargers fans NOW who they would rather have as their coach,I guarantee you will be hard pressed to find any that want MARTYBALL back now. 😆

A.J. SMITH got smart,he knew about Martys past playoff failures with the Chiefs and Chargers and how he screwed it up for them all the time and knew if he ever wanted to win some playoff games with the Chargers, they wouldnt come with Marty. 😄 Heck conservative marty would more than likely have kept using LT on runs and try to get him to eventually take over the game where Norv was smart enough to see that the Titans had his number and decided to throw the ball down the field and take your shots.

gotta admit I didnt read the post above mine.

There is a rumor that Pete Caroll wants to ruin his life and become the next coach of the Falcons. I cant see how this is even remotely a good idea. I mean maybe if his dream has just always been to be an NFL coach then ok. But why give up such a dream college job at this point for a crappy NFL one.

Oh and we all know Pitt isnt gonna pay allen faneca so who is gonna win the LG sweepstakes?

I agree if I was him I would stay where I'm at in USC and it seems that this was Joe Gibbs last year in coaching. btw Antonio Gates is very doubtful at this point vs the colts.

There is always rumors about Carroll going back to the NFL at this time every year. It's so ridiculous, he is staying at USC, he has stated this many times.

actually it isnt a rumor anymore. It is fact Carroll has met with Arthor Blank and talked to him about the job.

Yes that may be true, but I sincerely and highly doubt that Pete Carroll will ever leave USC.

He met with him to tell him to shove it up his rich ass, he aint leaving us.

My money says Arizona, where half their roster was comprised of Steeler cast-offs this past year, especially linemen like Oliver Ross and Chukky Okobi. Former Steelers line coach Russ Grimm is the line coach for the Birdies, and is a man that Faneca publically championed to be Cowher's successor. I'll bet Whisenhunt has been salivating for the start of the '08 Free Agency since he signed his own contract out in the desert a year ago.

thanks for proving ONCE AGAIN then that you have too much arrogance to admit it when i have proven you wrong again in an NFL debate when you know you cant counter it. 😛

since this post is short, maybe you'll read it this time and see this part where at the end, I said A.J SMITH the general manager of the chargers, was smart enough to know that if the chargers were ever going to win a playoff game which is what he WANTS to do,he knew that Marty would never get it done for him.that was widely known by Chargers fans in san diego.you would be hard extremely hard pressed to find any chargers fans now that want Marty back over Turner like they did at the beginning of the year when they lost to the kansas city clowns of all people. 🙄

matter of fact. one of the sports writers here in kansas city has the same thoughts I do about Marty and I'll listen to HIS thoughts over yours anyday of the year forumcrew. He goes on to say while talking about the Chargers game and Marty in his article monday-

And that, more than anything best describes the transformation the Chargers have made from Martyball to what Turner has tried to instill in San Diego.Martyball might have stubbornly kept pounding Tomlinson against the Titans eight man front.Turner took his chances with Rivers in just his second year as a starter.

Im serious,I swear im not making this up,that sportswriter said MARTYBALL in that article. 😆 😆

if you dont believe me,I can prove it,check it out for yourself.Look up the sports section in the KANSAS CITY STAR on monday january 7th 2007,its all right there in black and white. 😆

Did Marty Schottenheimer sexually molest you as a child? If yes, can you verify that's where the phrase "MartyBall" originated? Thanks.

by the way I never said Marty was a good coach or that you were wrong. I just said look at who marty lost to last year and who norv beat this year. And I did not read your novel of smiley faces because you havnt had a new comment in 2 years. I know your stance, and think you need to get over it a little bit. No one cares anymore about what you think and martys' balls or the KC clowns as you so love to call them.
