Rewatched Super Bowl 42 yesterday. Just to go how finite football is: If, on the last drive, any one of these 3 things happen, the Pats are the Champs.

1) Jacobs doesn't get that right elbow over the first down marker on 4th and 1.
2) Seymour doesn't quit on the 3rd and 5 "Play of the Century" where Eli eludes 3 defenders and throws the bomb. Seymour had a clear shot at Eli but appears to have backed off because he thought his teammate was going to take Eli down.
3) Samuel doesn't let the ball go through his hands on 2nd and 5 (the play right before the "Play of the Century"😉.

And as a bonus: On the play right before the 4th and 1, if referee Mike Carrey doesn't let 11 seconds run off from the time Toomer catches it until the time they stop the clock for the measurement, the Pats may possibly get an extra 10 seconds on their last drive. Which for them is 2 plays.

If and's but's and maybe's.....we can talk all night of these in the Bowl. There are alot more than what you listed.

You can probably say an if,and or but in any play of every game. If so and so fell down or slipped defending a wr then team x gets a touchdown. Like rogue jedi said this could be talked about and debated days on end.

true but saying if someone fell down is a totally random event. Someone dropping an interception is a lot closer to actually happening. But in the end the Giants won and that is all that mattered.

Again in other NFL news (notice I am trying to get you guys off the superbowl?)

allen faneca pretty much has no chance of staying a Steeler, and while I still think he will end up in Arizona (they have loads of cash and the whisenhunt / Grim connection) the rumor going around is that Seattle is strongly persuing him, which would make me super happy.

I think Forumcrew is a closet Pats fan. 😆

Haha..

not in a million years, but I really hate the giants too so I had little satisfaction from the pats losing. The thing is I respect the Pats ability but I do not like them. And Brady (while I do think he is very very good) I think he has always been a tad over rated.

Totally agree.

I didnt watch the SB because of that one reason. I hate both teams.

Anyways, hopefully it will be an interesting offseason. Sometimes I find the offseason better than the actual season. Strange, but I do.

I totally agree. More deals happen and they are always large market people so I can't wait and see who the Vikings pick up.

bottom line is that Eli perfomed in the clutch while Brady did not.

they both did, you cant really blame brady or any qb for not being able to drive a team down the field in under 30 seconds.

what I meant was that Eli was the one with the oppurtunity to come through.

Brady did play like shit, you gotta admit.

I dont think Brady played like shit.

He didnt throw any INT's, or fumble the ball. He didnt play well, but he wasnt shit.

Brady didn't play like shit, anyone who knows anything about football knows that. The Giants defensive line gave Brady a hard time but, but he was still able to march down the field and score when he needed to. The Patroits Defense cost them the Superbowl w/o being able to close the game(As Botankus pointed out already). What is your deal against Brady, do you secretly have a mancrush on him, and you bashing him is a way of tring to cover it up? The majority of people on here aren't Brady fans, but they still give him some credit for what he's accomplished.

I dont think he played like shit either. What he did was too little too late in hindsight. If the Giants would have failed Brady would have been the mvp. He didnt play spectacular and the pressure caused him to look mortal. Only 14 points.....wow!

Ill give you a pass on this as I hate Brady. Even though I think your wrong your heart is in the right place. 🙂

actually wes welker would have been the mvp (or at least should have been) if Eli did not get the TD on that drive.

With another embarrassing and early exit from the playoffs and a new stadium on the horizon, Cowboys owner/GM Jerry Jones will feel compelled to make a big splash this offseason. The most popular speculation is he'll trade his two first-round picks and running back Marion Barber (a restricted free agent) to the Miami Dolphins for the No. 1-overall selection in the NFL Draft. Jones then could select Arkansas running back Darren McFadden.

That's not the only power play Jones might make. With wide receiver Randy Moss hitting the open market Feb. 29 -- unless the Patriots use the franchise tag on him -- hauling in the single-season touchdown receptions leader would create a compelling Texas tandem of Terrell Owens and Moss.

That would be the most ridiculous offense ever, even more so than this years Pats. Terrell Owens, Randy Moss, Terry Glenn and Darren McFadden? Two of the best receivers ever, and the two best in the league currently, with a top 5 QB, an explosive running back and a solid #3 receiver who is capable of being #1.

So the Redskins have officially gone crazy. They finally hired a new head coach toady... Jim Zorn. Yea Zorn the same guy who they hired as the offensive coordinator a few weeks ago.

Like that would ever happen. They're not going to get Moss. Didnt the Superbowl prove that a high powered offense doesnt automatically mean a win.

Moss will probably stay with the Pats. If he doesnt, the Cowboys are not going to get him because TO and Moss will not go well together. You only need 1 primadonna, not two.

It's been rumoured that the Cowboys will go for McFadden. Cowboys do not need McFadden and giving up Barber, and two first round picks for 1 guy, who will make twice as much as Barber is not a smart move.

Jones will do something crazy, but Moss is definitly not going to happen and McFadden might, but it wouldnt be smart.

with ronnie brown its not really a smart move for the dolphins either. Yea they really want to move out of the #1 spot and getting some other draft picks from dallas could help them, but there are other deals they could make that would benefit them more. I mean Brown is the best player on the entire offense if not the team right now.
