Due in large part to him. Now if he were to go to Dallas, would there doubt in anyones mind that they would have the best offense in the league? It may seem unlikely, but who knows, if he isn't worried about the money then it opens it up for a lot of teams to sign him. And if he was focused soley on winning a title then going to a team that already averages 30 points per game and was 13-3 the year before and plays in the weaker conference would seem like the best option.
What would be the difference if he signed with New England? The team has gotten worse and teams know what to do to shut down that offense. And now with Stallworth gone it makes it that much easier. It seems to me that if he was going to sign back with New England then he wouldn't have minded having the franchise tag slapped on him. If they were intent on keeping him then they should have done that.

if he isnt worried about the money he is staying in NE. There is no point for him to go to another team if his main goal is a championship.

He is the wild card here Forumcrew. He could stay in New England and make them one of the frontrunners. Or he could go to Indianapolis/Dallas/Greenbay and make them the clear front runners. New England this season with the best offense of all time couldn't win a title, what in the hell makes you think they're going to win it next season when they are not going to have that good of an offense and a worse defense that was already their achilles heal? It just doesn't make much sense to me. If he was that content with winning a Super Bowl, then New England would not be his best option. Why not go a team like Indianapolis who won the Super Bowl just last season without you? Instead of staying with a team who couldn't win one with you and is getting worse.
I don't think New England is going to pay him what he wants anyway. Then it boils down to whether another team is going to give him what he wants and whether that team has a shot at winning the Super Bowl.
Remember the Pats are renowned for not paying a lot on free agents or extensions.
Lord Evo,
Please listen. Indy and Dallas cannot afford Moss, unless he takes a massive pay cut. Dallas has 9 million in cap and Indy is seriously lacking the cap space also.
Dallas wont go for Moss. Please stop saying he will go there. He isnt.
Indy also. Both teams dont need him and there is no way in hell the Colts GM will go for Moss when he seriously needs to fix that defensive line and LB crew. Dallas does not need him either because TO and Moss wont cooperate with each other. It would be awful. Especially considering the money will be gone to resign Adams, and well, no LT on your line would also suck.
This is Randy Moss were talking about here. He's the type of player that you would cut players for, just so you could afford him. I don't think money would ever be the issue in his case, especially with Jerry Jones. But whatever, Dallas is your team, you know more about them than me. You don't seem like you even want Moss on the team. If I were Jones I would get rid of Glenn and Williams.

If you knew you could control him. No one in Dallas commands enough respect to do that.

I wouldn't either. His New England season is anomaly if he leaves, since no other team can keep him producing at the rate he is without off field repercussions.
i dont even think randy moss wants to leave the patriots. he knows he has the best chance of getting a ring with them and i think he'll be there for a while. and he already took a massive pay cut to get onto the patriots, so i cant see him taking another one to join the cowboys. the patriots already released stallworth, so thats a good sign that randy is there to stay.

You dont just cut guys from the team to make room for Moss.
Those guys signing bonuses count to the cap and both of them have sizable ones. So there wouldnt be any free money if you cut both players, and if you do and Moss doesnt work out, then your ****ed for the next couple of years in terms of cap.
That would be the worst thing they could possibly do.
The logical places for Randy Moss to end up besides NE IMO is either Philly or the Jags. Those to teams are the closest to contending for a Superbowl that actually NEED a WR. I would say the Vikings, too, but I don't see Moss going back there. Philly has already said they would try to get him. And I don't know about the Jags, but if Moss, Chad Johnson, or even Larry Fitz went there I would pick them as favorites for the Superbowl next year.

I didnt think of the Jags. That would make more logical sense than Dallas, and Indy.
Green Bay, in my opinion would be the front runner for Moss because of Favre nearing retirement, and I think they have the money to sign him.

If he wanted the money, then I could see him signing with the Jags, but not if he wants to win a Super Bowl(which apparently is more important to him now). Even with Moss I don't see the Jags winning a Super Bowl.

They like to keep quiet in the off season, which has baffled me ever since free agency began. The last time they signed a big-time player in the offseason was 1996 when they got Bettis, and even that was a trade, not free agency.
There will be no Moss in black and gold. In addition to the above paragraph, they also traditionally weed out the a-holes and try not to transplant them to western PA, either.
