Another rumor about Moss to Dallas.

I'm crossing my fingers, this could be Owens' last shot at getting a Super Bowl ring. Ironically, it's Randy Moss.

They like to keep quiet in the off season, which has baffled me ever since free agency began. The last time they signed a big-time player in the offseason was 1996 when they got Bettis, and even that was a trade, not free agency.

There will be no Moss in black and gold. In addition to the above paragraph, they also traditionally weed out the a-holes and try not to transplant them to western PA, either.

if they wanted to spend big money this off season they would have signed faneca.

Obviously, if Moss wants to sign with Dallas, he will have to take a major paycut.

Can someone please explain to me, why in the world are the Browns not going to keep Derek Anderson. To pen all their hopes and dreams on Brady Quinn for reason is way beyond me. Anderson won 10 games, any other year and that could have gotten them into the playoffs. One can only hope, Quinn gets them 10 wins and they make the playoffs.

Don't know how credible this site is but....

Anderson Rumors involving Dallas/Miami Trade...Rumors are spreading throughout the league that both the Miami Dolphins and Baltimore Ravens will pursue Browns quarterback Derek Anderson in free agency if the Browns are unable to reach a deal with Anderson before the free agency deadline expires...the Brown will likely use the highest tender on Anderson which would force any team that signs him to surrender their first and third round picks in the 2008 Draft with the Browns having the right to match any offer on the table...rumors are spreading that the Dolphins who own the first pick overall will deal that pick to the Cowboys for both of the Cowboys picks in the first round, which is less than the value chart but agreeable to both teams...the Dolphins would then surrender one of those first round picks plus a third to Cleveland for Anderson...the Dolphins would then come away with Anderson but still have a first round pick in the Draft...it's a strategy that has been widely speculated throughout the league over the past several weeks.

I can see the Cowboys trading their two picks, but I dont know if its number 1 overall.

Unless, that rumor is legit than I would support that move, but I wouldnt if they give away Barber also.

If I had to make a prediction, I would think that Dallas will move up the draft but not exactly in the top 10, but more in the top 15 to nab a player they like. Or, they trade down once again for next year because they seriously need an LT if they let go Adams.

If they do let go of Adams, and he wanted to sign with the Cowboys, it will be a huge mistake.

Browns just tendered Anderson. So it's a possibility.

Adams signs back with Dallas. This probably means there not going to make a huge move in free agency.

Good, I was worried about that.

Still dont understand the Thomas signing. A writer for the site said its bascially a move because he is really good in coverage and will play the majority of passing downs.

Still think it will bite us in the ass.

As free agency began Friday at 12:00 AM ET, the Patriots had no deal in place with Randy Moss, according to ESPN's John Clayton.
The 6'4 wideout with 4.3 speed and a 40'' vertical who scored 23 TDs last season is officially open to the highest bidder. The Patriots shouldn't be out of the picture, but the 31-year-old may as well look around.

To put all their hopes and dreams on Anderson, who had 1 good year and is still unproven, is just as dumb. Not many people outside of the Browns fan base watched Cleveland play on Sundays this past season, if they did, they would see that Anderson can throw the deep ball well... but when teams got tape on him and took away the deep threat, he turned mediocre.

As of now I would love to have Anderson back in a Browns uniform, but if we can get draft picks then I say let him go because our D needs help badly and there is not much in the way of free agency.

If he is back next season and has the same stats against a more difficult schedule then I am all for Anderson as the Browns QB, I'm just not ready to proclaim him as the answer yet.

But its better to put all the hopes and dreams on Brady Quinn. A second year player who played 1 game and gets publicity because he played for Notre Dame and not because he is the next best thing.

Anderson did well last season, might as well give him a chance.

The Minneapolis Star-Tribune's Sid Hartman writes that Randy Moss is "signed, sealed, and delivered" with a deal to stay with the Patriots.

I didn't mean as putting it all on Quinn either, was tired when I posted that and was trying to hurry up and just say that Anderson had a good year but he is still a bit unproven. I say tender him and give him another year so we can see if he is the real deal.

But with saying that, if a deal comes up where the Browns can get picks for him then I say you take it because you still have uncertainty at the QB position no matter who you go with.

Edit: Cleveland traded 2nd round pick for Corey Williams from Green Bay. I think Anderson is going to be on a different team next season based on that move, because I don't think Savage would give up a 2nd round pick this year if something wasn't coming.

Disregard my edit. mmm

Just saw on NFL Network that the Browns reached agreement on a multi-year contract with Anderson.

I understand where your coming from but I think its massive mistake to give up Anderson for picks just because you have a first rounder as a backup.

In the NFL, when a QB wins ten games in a tough conference, and could of easily made the playoffs in the other conference, you give the guy a chance to prove his is the real deal. You never, ever give him up just because you might be able to get something from him.

Look at the Chargers, same thing. Brees had a couple of great years, they let him go knowing that Rivers was behind him and then Brees goes on to do great things with the Saints while Rivers is good, but he isnt Brees.

It's just you never should give up a QB just because you might get a couple of picks. The worst case possible would be that Anderson does well on another team while Quinn sucks balls, and all you got was a second rounder, who could fail anyways.

They aren't going to pay Asante Samuel the ridiculous amount he will undoubtedly ask for. I would go for Nnamdi Asomugha from the Raiders, very good corner IMO.

Combine players for me are:

Sedrick Ellis
DeSean Jackson
Keith Rivers
McFadden
JDB

SAMUEL SET TO JOIN THE FLOCK
Various media reports, collected and referenced by our good friends at SportingNews.com, indicate that cornerback Asante Samuel will indeed sign a contract with the Eagles on Friday.
It's reportedly a five-year, $47.2 million deal. To the casual fan, that's short of the $10 million per year average from the eight-year, $80 million deal signed last year by Nate Clements of the 49ers. As everyone in PFT Planet knows, the Clements deal is actually seven years and $64 million, making it worth a hair over $9 million per year.
Samuel's deal carries an average of nearly $9.5 million. They could have added a phony final year that would have pushed the average to $10 million per year or more, and we respect both sides for doing what looks to be a "real" deal.
Also, there's a certain irony regarding the five-year duration of the contract. Typically, the Eagles like to lock players up for looooong periods of time. As it now stands, Samuel's deal will expire before the contracts signed by some of the young players who cashed in early.

Samuel just signed with the Eagles 6 years for $57 million

John Clayton reports Moss and Pats not close to deal.

Did I hear right? Did he say Dallas was a possibility?

i hate when players lie. It is ok to move to a team for the money but dont do that and then act like it was for other reasons. I just watched Samuels new conference with the eagles where he was saying he choose the eagles because they gave him the best chance to get back to the superbowl... sorry buddy everyone knows that isnt true. you choose them because they made you the second highest CB in the league.
