NFL Talk

Well, one guy from Fox Sports said that he decided in March that he wanted to come back and he Packers said cool, and then he said he wasnt coming back and that he is staying retired.

So now, the Packers dont trust him because he could say he's coming back and then they automatically give him the job, and then he says hes done and then they are screwed.

I like the move again.

I wonder if the Packers have already started trade talks with Miami, The Chiefs or the Ravens??

For Favre? You think he's gonna do a last-year swap?

Miami would be a bad move.

They dont need him. Even with him, they still will suck for the next couple of years and it will hurt them because they will have to give something up for him.

Miami would not trade for him. Only a team who is a QB away from a serious run would trade, and even then most would not.

Also Favre would never take a trade to a team like Miami. Any trade would involve a contract restructuring which basically gives Favre veto power.

True.

And there is no way that the Packers give Favre to the Vikings. No way in hell.

From a PR standpoint: Why would a team want Brett Favre? "To win a Super Bowl."

Okay, that eliminates about 28 of the teams in the league, including Minnesota and Chicago.

So after the 2008 season ends, how embarrassing would it be for not only the NFC North rival that he played for, but also for the Green Bay Packers and Brett Favre himself???? I say off the charts, and the humiliation for all parties will be remembered long after the non-Super-Bowl-winning gridiron performance of 2008 is forgotten.

If Favre played as well as he did last year I think the Vikes could contend. They would certainly be as good if not better than the Giants.

Basically. Its the same reason Malone went to the Lakers. But even then, the team still sucked. Signing up a big-name athlete in his 40's and on the verge of retiring, isn't much of an 'acquisition'.

38, but who's counting?

He had the best passer rating of his life last year. A lot of teams could use him. Including the Packers, ironically.

But I want to see him compete. I hope they release him instead of trading him. The Vikings still don't have receivers, but will be a scary team with him at the helm.

He's damn good, and no one can argue that. But I don't like when people announce they're retiring only to turn around and say that they were just pulling your leg and you're an idiot if you bought it.

Bill Maher put it best: "New rule: you cannot say you're going on a farewell tour, unless you absolutely positively swear you'll go away. This goes for Cher, Madonna, Michael Jordan, and if The Eagles pull this again, I swear I'll stab them all with my steely knife until I just do kill the beast!"

Exactly.

Favre is being annoying.

Good move on the Packers part.

And they wont release him at all. Trade is the only possibility.

Favre is definitely not being a "team player" 😂

That would be so wicked if he came to Minnesota.. Yeah, I can see it lol..

Seriously if he went to the Vikings the first Monday night game of the season Vikings vs. Packers would be the most epic game ever and easily the most watched.

Sure, hahaha.

Snyder finaly made that splash everyone was waiting for. Skins give up a 2nd and 6th round pick for Taylor.

Shockey traded to Saints. 💃

Wow suprised that got done after it all fell apart in the draft. I figured if it happened this late it would be the Giants being desperate to get him out of the locker room and give him away cheap but they got a premium price on him, a 2nd and a 5th round pick.. wow.
