I watched the 2nd half of the Texans/Colts debacle. It was at a point with the timeouts and score that it was almost scientifically impossible for the Colts to win unless...they got a turnover returned for a score.
When the Colts were down 27-24 and Houston had the ball, they showed Jeff Saturday on the bench and Dan Dierdorf was like, "Just look at Jeff Saturday. He's thinking, "Oh, we're winning this game."
What a gut-wrenching loss.
I missed the second fumble.
I was like well, they have 3-4 minutes and 3 TO's, they can do it.
And then came downstairs, and boom its 27-24.
Colts are lucky, but the next 5 games are against Baltimore, Green Bay, Teneesee, New England and Pittsburgh.
Thats killer. A very good chance they wont make the playoffs. I'm probably thinking they wont.

I dont think any of those 5 teams are as good as their records show. Steelers need to start playing sooner than the last 5 minutes if they want to contend with real teams.
Gotta love those Eagles fans!

Still tougher than San Fran, Seattle, St Louis and a few others.
Whats that have to do with it? Was just saying the Colts schedule isnt as hard as it might appear looking strictly at records.
AD doesnt get the chance in the return game or even the pass game as much so you really dont know what he might be capable of. When you have a guy who is that good of a runner you dont risk him on those plays. Bush is not that good of a runner but he is too special to not use some how so they HAVE to use him in other ways. As much as Reggie can be a game changer if I was building a team today I take AD without even thinking hard. I want the guy I know I can hand off the rock too 25 times if I need to and get good results. Not to mention he doesnt make as many game changing plays for the other team, by fumbling. Reggie has to fix that problem, 11 fumbles in his last 16 games that can kill a team. As much as he has had some great games this year, the 2 in which he turned it over, they lost by less than 1 score.
If that team doesn't have an offensive line, I'm definitely taking Bush. If they had an average line, I would take Bush. However, if the line was very good, I would take Peterson, for the sheer fact that you need a back that you can hand it off to for 25+ times. I'm not handing it to anyone 25 times behind anything but a good offensive line. Peterson with a great offensive line = 2007. You can't deny those results.
But a team with less than a very good offensive line, where nothing short of Barry Sanders would justify running that many times with one player, I would take Bush. He's just the better overall player. He makes more of an impact on the Saints than Peterson does on the Vikings. Bush is going to make QB's look better by turning short swing passes behind the line of scrimmage into 20+ yard gains. He's going open things up for other players more so than any other skill position player in the league, simply because he can do it all and the Saints have him all over the place, sucking opposing defenders into him like a vacuum cleaner. Once he is in space, everyone is holding their breath. He's probably the best in the league in the open field. He can have a bad day rushing, because of his offensive line or for whatever reason, but still make game changing plays in other areas. That is what makes him the leagues ultimate weapon. I'm hoping he scores a kick return TD this season, and maybe a passing TD(they tried this in his rookie season), that would give him at least 1 TD in every category across the board.
But if he keeps returning punts like this, he might break Hester's record.
What is it that Michael Irvin said about him on ESPN before he was canned? "You give him 6 inches, he'll give 6 points". I think he literally had 6 inches of space on that 42 yard TD vs Washington.
Gotta love this message board. One guy giving birth to Reggie Bush's love child, while others are trying discredit every team in the league.
Kind of reminds of Sports Talk 850AM up here. There's a host named Adam Gold and one by one, he literally goes out of his way to say all 32 teams are overrated by the end of each NFL week. Here's the thing: He's serious! I think he has issues at home.

Now that's funny. I'm going to Philadelphia on vacation next week (also Lancaster, PA). I've never been before but all I want to do is talk to the locals about how that 2-3 record is going.

His "analysis" is largely determined by strength of schedule, and since every opponent is overrated, every team sucks!
