But if you really wanted determination of possession to be taken out of the hands of evil trickery and into the hands of the true gods of football themselves, why not just have Manning and Brees throw footballs through a hole in a piece of painted plywood to decide who gets the ball first? See how ridiculous this is getting?
Note to the media: There are 44 other active players on a team besides the first-string quarterback on a given Sunday, plus a truckload of coaches, talent evaluators, trainers, & white-collar personnel. All in some form have a say in the outcome of a game. Not just your beloved Wheaties box boys. The quicker you learn that, the less of an ass you will sound like in your articles.
Yeah, I'm starting to hate the QB talk.
That's why I hate when the media uses SB wins as a valid argument for why a QB is better than the other. Why can't journalists watch game tape? Or look behind the stats?
Nope, its all about SB wins. Who gives a shit that the Saints defense played well and Gregg Williams called a perfect game.
I was thinking about this while I was in traffic, coming home from work and basically came up with a conclusion. A football game contains 40 percent offense, 40 percent defense and 20 percent special teams and coaching.
40 percent of offense comes from: 15 percent QB, 15 percent "Skilled" players and 10 percent linework.
So in the end, I figure that QB's are worth about 15 percent of their team. For such a small percentage, in the overall scheme of things, a QB is not solely responsible for losing a SB, let alone a poorly performing offense.
So in Manning's case, the pick-six was a bad throw but what about the rest of the game? Who gives a shit about that? Or how they got to the Superbowl?
Last of the rant. I was thinking 30 years from now what all of us will be thinking about who was the best and who was not blah blah blah?
Considering Manning went from being the best QB to ever play the game (according to most media) to 8th best (http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/story/the-10-greatest-qbs-of-all-time)
Read all the lists and then read Manning's. Sound a little vindictive?
He writes that Favre is a fantastic QB (which he no doubt is) but talks about Manning's shortcomings? (which is what exactly, a choke artist?). Hello? Did everybody forget Favre awful INT to lose the game two weeks before the SB?
One of my favourites is comparing how Payton falls on the ground to avoid an unnecessary sack (he only has 19 fumbles in an 11 year career, compared to 35 fumbles in the first 11 years of Favre career) to his brother heroic Helmet catch. How is that fair?
Another one is Steve Young. HE's like, "he won 2 MVPs, 1 SB and SB MVP." Hello, hasn't Manning done that and done it on a more consistent basis. Also, Young has been defeated in the playoffs tooo..
Sorry for the rant. I just Manning haters (who always they like him before the diss him) are picking at something because they know that 30 years from now they'll be thinking of Manning as being one of the greatest to ever play. Terry Bradshaw won 4 SB's and is never considered the best. And please, Tom Brady being better than Manning.

Maybe the Steelers perhaps?
Last "big-name" free agent signing the Steelers had was landing Duce Staley 6 years ago, if that tells you anything about their traditional FA activity.
There are also rumors that the Raiders are shopping Nnamdi Asunmugha. If that happens in an uncapped year, look for him in a Skins or Coyboys uni next year.
