I don't.

It's not just the money either, I would of rather had the draft picks. Denver has made out on 2 huge trades now picking up a ton of draft picks for Cutler and Marshall. Now to see if McDaniels and crew can build a good team from the draft.

Gaining a player that for the last 3 seasons in a row has had 100+ receptions is a benefit to any team.

Also, the drafts are a complete gamble. We have no clue how new prospects are going to perform under the spotlight. Brandon Marshall is an established elite receiver. Plus, he just turned 26. He has a lot of good football seasons left in him.

Imo, Miami made out with the better end of the deal.

I don't know.

I understand the move. He was crazy but he's a huge talent.

Now the Bronco's have nobody. Royal is good but not great. Moreno hasn't proved enough.

Hey, we're just following the blueprint of the Cowboys of the '90's. Super Bowls and half the team behind bars in the offseason.

Seriously, what's funny is that kicker Jeff Reed's constant public intoxication gets buried beneath Holmes and Big Ben's daily updates. Until the latter's issues surfaced, Steeler fans were all over Reed for his short kickoffs and arrests yet cut him some slack because of his amazing FG accuracy.

But let's be realistic here. i don't care who did what, it is much easier to cut loose a wideout than a $100 million dollar QB. Anyone who says otherwise needs a crash course on NFL economics.

Michael Vick was a $100 million dollar QB. Does anyone think the Falcons would have let him go if they knew there would be no charges filed?

I wish we would've cut Reed cause that amazaing field goal accuracy was amazingly disappointing this season for me.

I'm sure someone would trade for him though, I mean I love the plays Ben makes sometimes even if he does wait too long to throw the ball, but twice accused of rape? Even if he didn't do it some sort of punishment would've made sense, besides I think we need to use Dennis Dixon in the game more.

I really don't care either way but I find it funny that the team is willing to cut loose Holmes for a pair of jeans but not reprimand their QB.

They're hypocrites if they don't punish him.

I'm not going to get over that 5th round trade unless we find the Tom Brady of Wide outs in the 5th round.

Not if they become a huge problem and then a waste of money. The draft is a gamble, but the 2nd round is gold. There is a lot of great talent at a much cheaper price. Someone with the issues Marshall has is a gamble as well though, he is no sure thing.

Perhaps, but his off the field troubles have never affected his performance on the field. He's always been an asset to the Broncos in terms of production value. For that reason, I think people make too big a deal out of his legal troubles.

Money aside, if you look at the statistics, it was a brilliant move. Since '07, Marshall alone has had more receptions than the entirety of Miami's receiving corps. That's insane.

And since the Dolphin's are primarily a running offense, this will allow them to be more versatile, which in turn, will allow them to throw defenses off.

And you're right, a 2nd round draft pick is huge, but you know what they say... "A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush."

I hope your exaggerating.

Second round is not gold. There is just as many flops as the first round but less expensive. Which is a good thing sometimes.

batdude it is two 2nd round picks, not 1.

How is less expensive only a good thing sometimes? That is the beauty of 2nd round picks. They come WAY cheaper. Sure there are still busts but it does not hurt your team near as much because of the big contract difference.

There was a quote I read before by an NFL GM that read:

"Fans get excited about first-round picks.

General managers get excited about second-round picks."

Fact is the talent does not fall off as much as the money does. (especially if you are in the top half of the 2nd round)

Marshall is a very talented WR no doubt, but between the massive amount of guaranteed money, and the big cap number he will have and the picks they had to give up all included with his character issues (they are not all off the field, he has been a problem on the field/practice/locker room/etc.. as well) I just do not think it is a great move overall when you look at all of that.

It's good sometimes because having a second round instead of first doesn't net you a big name player.

Sometimes you have to pay the money to get one.

Don't get me wrong. A second round pick is awesome but it's not a sure thing.

Yeah, 2010 and 2011 2nd round picks, but my point still stands.

Anyway, from what I've heard, there hasn't been too much trouble with Marshall in the locker room, certainly not to the extent of a guy like TO. People have stated that on the field he's a huge asset to the team in terms attitude and cooperation; plus his statistics don't lie.

Here's my bottom line: Do I think Marshall is going to make Miami a better team? Yes.

I agree they are better with him on their team not gonna argue that. But is he enough to take them from 7-9 to being ahead of the Jets and Patriots? I do not think so and think over the next few years the trade will have been a waste, but I guess at least they are trying.

Meh, I could see them maybe taking one of the wildcard spots in the AFC.

For some strange reason the name "Chris Chambers" pops into my head.

Shhhhh, bad omen.

Kinda early to jump the gun on where the Phins or anyone else will place.

A lot of time to pick up more contracts before the season starts.

Lets wait a little bit before making assumptions.

The only thing that stands out as a certainty is that Marshall adds a big piece to the Miami offense.

why in the world did pete carroll turn to a bust?

can anyone tell me whether or not youtube took down the drunkeness that is jerry jones??..

Huh?

6 game suspension for Big Ben. According to ESPN the Steelers are trying to see if any teams will give up a top 10 pick for him. Wouldn't that be interesting if Big Ben came to Seattle...

who cares that roethlisberger was suspended..

doubt they will go anywhere anyway

In breaking news, I was molested by Ray Lewis in a Taco Bell bathroom back in February. It slipped my mind but now I feel the need to go to the police with it. Oh, and then after that, Chad Ochocinco grabbed my ass as I when I was at the library. And then Eric Foster -- damn! Somebody already snatched him up.

I was at the library to check out The Crucible. You know, the book where those Salem chicks were sent to the gallows because some selfish b!tch accused them of being witches. It's also a book in which the reader feels that most of the real-life people who believed the accusations were of primitive intellect.
