Should have been ruled a TD.

I don't see a difference between what Johnson did and if the person landed on the ground on his back and the ball popped out.

The difference would be when johnson hit the ground he had the ball in full control.

Its a bad wording of the rule, just like the running into the kicker that was just called tonight. Ravens got 4 points they did not deserve.

yeah, but once again the colts can't stop the run, Jones-Drew, C2J will have field days and possibly some unknown dude will run wild on the colt run d

Yeah, just like they did last year...

...

Wait, what?

I personally didn't see that he had control. I've seen constant plays like that during games and they don't get called and nobody cares because it wasn't the last play of the game.

In the wording of the rule, it wasn't a catch. Is the rule dumb, probably but that's the rule.

Jets lost because of their defensive ego, plain and simple. Their DB's are very talented, but when they are given very, very limited safety help, Superman himself can't defend a dozen deep balls in the game without drawing flags or allowing catches. And by Superman, I mean Cromartie and that Boise State scrub.

I think Flacco was underthrowing these moonballs intentionally and allowing receivers to come back for the ball. These DB's are very aggressive at the LOS so it's easy to create some space. And when they come back for the ball, it's going to be a flag, a catch, or an INT like the Cromartie one. But even that dynamic Cromartie INT return seems minute compared to the times he was victimized in many, many other circumstances. Same with that Boise State rookie. I've memorized his hair length since all I saw of him was his desperate efforts to catch up to receivers. Revis is fine, but they have to remember that safeties need to be somewhere else behind where Kris Jenkins should have been!

Point is, yes they stopped Ray Rice, but were too wrapped up in that glory to see that every 3rd pass was a 25-yard lob that the isolated DB could rarely defend!

Ass on ground, ball in control. Hopefully in the future this is a catch.

I definitely enjoyed watching the great jets secondary get abused and penalized all game. Flacco learned quick just lob it up to Boldin.

To be assigned the Lions/Bears game, those photographers had to have been somewhere around 12th-string on the cameraman depth chart. For starters, look at them.

Do you really think the Colts' defense is constantly going to allow over 200 yards rushing per game?

The illogical door swings both ways.

The Colts don't need Peyton to throw for 400+ yards every time to win a game.

They weren't ready for Foster, plain and simple. You can bet your sweet ass when they play again he won't have near the production.

well since bob sanders is gone once again they just might..

true they don't need peyton to throw for 400 yards always however they still need the defense to force turnovers, get sacks etc

Doesn't anybody remember previous Colts team?

No, a guy probably won't run 230 yards but I will see teams run for 150-200 yards a game.

Let's see what happens but the team the offense isn't good enough to come back from huge deficits like they did before.

It's going to be a massacre when the play the Cowboys if they don't fix up that run defense.

Just like how he was out the entire season last year? How'd they do again?

I agree the defense needs to step it up, but they'll be just fine.

You mean the last 7 years when they've won 12+ games a season? The winningest team of the 00's?

Lawlz.

This is a ridiculously bold statement to make after a single game.

Again, after a single game? You're getting ridiculous here.

As long as Peyton Manning is at the helm, the Colts are a 12+ win team.

Lmao.

The Cowboys have issues of their own to worry about.

You really think it is ridiculous to think there will be teams to rush for 150+ on the colts? They averaged over 125 allowed per game last year, and were in the bottom 10 of rush defense in the league. The reason the avg was as low as it was is because there are games where the colts get ahead by too much for the other team to run all day. But any game where they colts dont jump out in front fast they will get run on all day, and teams will be able to cross 150 or more on them. That is not ridiculous it is a simple truth. Does not mean they can't ever win, but it will happen.

I don't see multiple teams running 200 yards on the Colts. At best, it may happen 1-2 more times.

Wow, no love for the Colts here.

Anybody got a problem with my Saints ? 😐

I'm a secondary Colts fan. I like watching them.

But for the past 5 years (or more), I've seen the same thing. Running backs destroying their team and the offense picking up the slack to win games.

How did the Colts win the SB? By playing run defense perfectly during the playoffs.

I don't see it this year. I saw a team that got raped by Arian Foster. He ran for 230 yards and team ran for over 250 yards. That's brutal.

What will Chris Johnson and Jones-Drew do to them if that's the case.

I don't think the offense will pick up the slack this time. I can't see Manning doing it with the personal they have.

The reason why I say the Cowboys is because they have 2 great RB's who can pound it and one is extremely fast. Also, the offensive line for the Colts doesn't look like a strength this year and Ware and Spencer could potentially have a field day. Granted, this is long time from now and teams can change but I saw a different Colts team than last year.

And don't forget the lack of run game the Colts have. It didn't really hurt them this year but it might be deadly this year.
