That is Sifu/Guro Dan Inosanto, in all reality he's the most skilled martial artist in the world. He was Bruce Lee's best friend, a Jeet Kune Do master, a master of 20 different Filipino martial arts styles, and a lot more other styles also.

Here check out these two links on who Dan Inosanto is.

taekowndo - black belt, when i was a kid..

not a kid anymore 🙁

in case any of you havent been here i suggest going to http://www.bullshido.net/index.php.

On there they talk about various frauds and injustices wthin martial arts.

one would be children(people who are under the age of 10) earning a black belt. i highly agree that no one that young should get one since that is a mockery of martial arts.

whats your thoughts?

To me is the whole thing of teaching self defense but teaching unrealistic moves that are more in tradition than reality.
schools try to blur the lines for less informed people

yo spidergrl wat belt are u in tae kwon do?

wait hold up are you anti-tradition or do you just hate teaching somewhat useless moves? 😕

I wouldn't say i'm anti -traditional but I hate they idea of some of these schools who teach moves that have no real self defense value but are taught to be.

Like aikido.
Morihie ueshiba did not intend aikido to be a,I realy don't know what the word is but for lack of a better word a fighting art.
In aikido and the harmony of nature it states aikido is not a martial art or religon but a way of life.To get the fool experince of aikido you must live aikido.
Now i've seen several aikido schools who teach tradintional moves and such as REAL street moves and I feel the spirit aikido has been lost.
A few people I know of took aikido lessons without knowing what aikido realy was. They were told, however, that it was more of a fighting martial art.
In the aikido the ueshiba created their was to be no competition.

I hope that kind of clears it up a little.

spelling correction fool/full

you can just press the [edit] button!

ahh i see...

you could call aikido as a martial art but thats if you count technicalities but thats besides the point.

I fully understand what your trying to say and i absolutely agree with you.

what about the [edit] button? 😛

sorry spidergrl. As long as i've been posting I only now noticed it when I read your reply!

pretty much.
I have no problem with traditional martial arts but some schools blur the lines of the self defense/philosophy aspect of martial arts.

The Bodhisattva warriors is a great book that goes more in depth about this.In one part it talks about how some techniques where used by buddhist monks to enter physical enlightment to go with their mental enlightment. The book then goes on to talk about how most modern schools neglect this fact and teach some of these ancient teachings as self defense when they had a completleydifferent meaning.

thats alright. just showing you were the button was! 😊
