yeah chucks gud but not as gud as segal ( not) did bruce really train chuk, kwel if he did even though from what i herd bruce was an actor fist and foremost and a martial artist second.
yeah kool, did you like? syfai is a ***** to learn but gettin there, yeah in aus it's 760 a yeah plus grading fee and other stuff.

bruce lee was really verry good BEFORE he started acting.
his skill is what got him into movies.
now..you can't really compare them with somebody like segal because their style is really very different...and they never sparred.
but yeah.....segal is the only white man who was allowed to teach aikido in japan.....and that IS something. he knows his stuff.

i agree with you about bruce lee, his skills made him famous but is it fare to say at some point during his training he got the notion that he could become famous through martial arts.so he used his skills to get him into acting.

And i also agree with you about segal, but he's such a drop kick, loser, fagio. i don't know he just recons he's "crash hot" and i hate that.
And in his movies after he hits someone he says some corny line like " that'll leave a bruise", or "try not to do any more fighting over the next few days"
he just sucks big tim in my opinion.

well the lines he says are no more his choice than they are mine or yours......it's what the director tells him to do. at most..he's guilty for accepting only shitty parts 😛
oh well....whatever pops the cash. i respect him as sa martial artist.
his acting skills are dreadful

no he does, he can kick up a stinck and demand a rewrite.
and i agree thats all ill see him as also, an akido instructor.

Im not training right now, fractured my back from over training

man...goodluck in your recovery. take it easy

Its not that easy. I can't seem to stop doing anything.
Im suppose to wear a back brace, aint happening. My father has been on my back for along time to make me wear it. Anyway, I have a scan on the 9th of Jan to see how it is

well why don't you wear it..

oiy, were it, don't be stupid.
you can do some sitting ZEN, good oppertunity to train your mind.

Because its ugly, and you have to wear really baggy cloths over it to hide it, and I don't wear baggy cloths. Im going to wear it now tho, I want my back better, I want to go to the Jnr Worlds in July, it would be amazing.

What is Zen?

thats a shame but whatever it takes to get better, thats what i say.

Zen budist meditation, a style implyed by GOJU-Ryu and is found to be very effective.

ZEN means super attention or super focused.

It helps you clear your thoughts before you spar with anyone and is a good relaxation treatment after your training.

also help you remember Katas as they should be done and not how you do them.
thnx for explaining more clearly

Does anyone have like any helpful things that I can do for it, it sounds interesting and I would love to give it a go.

Just wanted to say thanks guys, Im wearing my back brace again, hopedully get me back in sparing right now.

ok what i do when injured ( which is regularly) is swim as much as i can, an hour a day in a pool even just sitting there works wonders.
i also tend to do exercises on the non efected areas ( for you thats your mind),
so if i was you and your serious about getting back in the game then id be doing meditation, wateva type, dosent matter really ( though i prefer ZEN and some jap thing)
Also think of your recovery as being a battle, when you get back in the Dojo the real battle begins, so use some stratagy, think about what youll be concentrating on whaen you get back.
i.e. weeks 1 to 10= back
weeks 11-15= restoring stregnth
weeks 16-20= sparring/ katas.

Also don't feel to restrained by time, you have all the time you need and chances are you'll need every moment.
after that just enjoy your self.

Thanks for the advice Bogen - i'm starting running tommorrow evening along with a calorie controlled diet, that coupled with my martial arts training seems to burn it off quite quickly!
