Oh and did anyone buy the single shot assault rifle in Drebin's shop? I wasn't sure but it looked like a musket, unfortunately I didn't have the points to buy it.

I didnt even notice it, but I know a lot of weapons arent available till you play again, since your points carry over.

Im watching the "Making of" in the limited edition, its funny to see the voice actors who play the characters. Ocelot is like a biker. 😂

😂 from western to biker.

Ok, after 20 minutes getting setup, MGO is undeniably cool, but just the entire setup system and PS3 online is so ****ed. 😬

So a question from a Wii60 owner who won't be able to afford a PS3 this millenia: is the game as good as all the hype and all the 10/10 scores say?

I beat it in 3 days, which personally means it wasnt a 10.

Yes it was, jump off a cliff for saying such bullshit.

It was great, but now ive beaten it and there isnt much else to do.

Yes indeed.

In a year or two when they come out with a special edition like Subsistence, it will easily be a 10. As is the game is very lacking once you actually finish the game, unless you are a completionist. You can finish the game in a rent, and the online isnt anything special. When MGS: S_____ comes out it will have a ton of cool features and extend the replay factor considerably.

Im disappointed there isnt a cutscene theater, so I could rewatch some of the cutscenes I vaguely remember from playing at 3 in the morning.

Mind giving me a full review because I'm still debating about this game and I trust your judgment.

Hmmmm.....

Basically, its a 15-20 hour adrenaline rush. Incredible new gameplay early in the game as you ease into the story, while epic storytelling carry the last three acts which are light on gameplay.

The first two acts showcase the all the new innovations brilliantly. Sneaking on hectic battle grounds with two sides fighting oblivious to your presence, unless you choose to takes sides, which can be beneficial to advancing up the battlefield. The controllable camera from Subsistence never acts up, the new third person shooting cam and ability to run while crouch make the series finally feel modern, and some of the best action gameplay I have played(at least in the first two acts). The Drebin blackmarket item system makes the game more approachable for players seeking action who lack the patience to sneak.

In the last three acts Kojima really pours on the storytelling with gameplay taking a backseat. Act III is basically two sections of gameplay. The first section is new to the series, but not exactly the intense fun of the earlier game. This is about the time the 30-40 minute scenes kick in, which I dont count against the game, because they are that good.

Act IV is basically straight up Metal Gear nostalgia, which ends in what can best be called a MGS fan's wetdream. Act 5 features little real gameplay aside from the opening section and 2 bossfights(and another funny bit of fan service). But you can deny the epicness, if thats a word, of the final act. The score kicks into overdrive, the stakes are raised for every character and one extremely well done interactive sequence makes you endure the pain Snake is going through. The ending makes a lot of contradictions to the previous games, and even segments in this game just hours before. Kojima seemed to struggle with pleasing fans of all the games and all the character, and suffers from leaving too many questions until the end.

Presentation, probably the best game I have played on all fronts. The graphics damn near perfect, the sound effects and score are bombastic and inspire you at all the right times. The cutscenes are long and frequent, but 99% of the time they are terrific, aside from some strange dialogue and a few unbelievable "WTFs". The voice acting is terrific aside from a few horrible lines, David Hayter's Snake is probably the most impressive voice work in a game I have seen.

Metal Gear Online is hard for me, I have been playing Xbox Live since it launched, and I just cant stand the setup for this game. You have to setup mutliple IDs and passwords, but of course they cant be the same. You can make one character who you cant go back and edit, and must pay to make a new character. Plus side, the gameplay is cool(maps too small for me) and lag free from what I saw.

Overall: The best game I have played this year, and it struck me emotionally more than any game I have played. Incredibly intense, and perfectly epic feel for the "last" of the Snake saga. The game is short, and only replayable for completionists. My personal distaste for the online may differ from normal PS3 players, but I cant see myself playing much in the future. If you have a PS3, by all means, buy this game. If you dont have one, dont buy it solely for this game, unless you are the most hardcore of MGS fan, who have probably already done just that. I'd score the game a 9 or 9.5. And there is always the factor of a directors cut version coming just like the previous games.

Spoiler:
did anyone else feel like they were watching Mr. And Mrs. Smith at the end there with Meryl and Akiba? I mean I thought it was cool and all, but I just can't think about that scene without thinking about Mr. And Mrs. Smith now... 😬

I wasnt thinking it then, but now that you mention it was almost exactly like the last battle in that movie.

Spoiler:
I was more interested in who flipped the badass switch on Akiba, and how he looks like a young blonde Snake.

heh, yeah, he was an idiot at first then he just started cappin' bitches. Favorite part of the game is still the fight between Liquid and Snake at the end, was hoping for more in the Ray/Rex fight. Way to easy.
Spoiler:
Atleast they gave a halfass explanation for why he was so incompetent, not taking the nanomachine shots. With nanomachines being the reason for everything ever. lol

I mentioned that a few times, as Blax pointed out.

I guess it was cause he was traumatized by being own by meryl and stripped naked in shadow moses. and that he was never a good soldier to begin with.

I didnt mind him too much, in the last three acts he was a good entertaing character. In the first act however, I was annoyed by the constant diarrhea jokes. 😬
