Ummm.....whatever that means.

Back on topic shall we EVERYONE.

Looking forward to that next inevitable Pokemon Update.

😊

Mewtwo & Jigglypuff! Then we can get onto some characters that really matter like Ganondorf and Ridley

For some reason, I don't feel as strongly for Mewtwo as I do other characters.

I just hope that if he comes back they make him faster and change some of his moves.

And Jigglypuff definitely needs to come back.

Pokemon really matter to this game and I think they realize that.

anata wa wakarimasu ka.....

Well, 'really matter' to a few people.

I still say Ganondorf would be awesome.

Doesn't mean anything about now.

Well, Yeah. I realize that, but I was just under the impression that if Norfair was actually a "boss stage" (like Final Destination in SSBM), that they wouldn't have revealed it this soon before Brawl's release, and clearly, it seems Norfair is just like any other stage in this game.

Ridley sad now. 🙁

"You can't use Bowser on Norfair! That's not fair!"

Makes staged themed to certain characters kind of pointless.

Hmm. Guess you're right... Although I did agree with InnerRise's idea at first, it would make things too unbalanced like you said.

Meh. To each his own I guess, though he very well may be playable regardless of what you want.

Ridley is the only new character besides Pit that I have to have.

Pit? I hardly knew anything about him before he was revealed in Brawl since he was only in like one game or so beforehand (a very old game), so I guess I'm indifferent about his inclusion, though he does seem like an interesting character. Perhaps he might be one of my mains...

As for me, seems the only newcomer besides Ridley I wanted (Diddy Kong) has already been revealed, so I guess all I'm waiting/hoping for now is Ridley himself, along with Mewtwo's return (as a much more versatile fighter than he was before).

Agreed.

It'd be stupid.

How would it be stupid? In terms of general size and shape, it would be much like having Charizard, but with different style and attacks.

That's understandable. When I was new to foruming, I was confused as hell about quoting, HTML tags, and what not, but once you become familiar with 'em, it's basically a 2nd nature. 😉

Mewtwo's sad now. 🙁

Agreed. His side B attack was practically worthless, and even though it could reflect projectile attacks if used at the right time, it didn't do any damage for some reason. 😐
Meh. Melee was a very rushed game, and Mewtwo happened to be a last-minute character for them to add, so I guess that (along with his slowness, attacks not being that strong, floating in the air for too long that makes him too easy to KO, etc.) was something either overlooked by the programmers, or just stuff they didn't have time to fix/balance out.

Well since it is Ninty's most top-selling franchise next to Mario, I guess that's true. 😬

Agreed, especially when it comes to his TP version.

Actually, Kid Icarus did get a sequel on the Game Boy. So two relatively old games. The ironic thing is Kid Icarus was released alongside Metroid, made by the same person, and was often sold together with it. But for some reason, despite both being superb games in the same genre, only Metroid went on to fame and fortune.

I remember playing Kid Icarus when I was a little kid...that game was neat.

...because the developers decided to put all their attention on making Metroid even better?

You speak for the majority do you? You know what they all like? Oh that's right...You work at Gamestop. Forgive me.

Anyways......

Well yeah, I get that other characters would have an advantage over others...that was kind of the point....It's still something to think about. I still find it interesting.

Don't get me wrong...I'd still like to see him in the game....he's just not a top priority for me ahora mismo. I'm sure you can contribute this feeling to how Mewtwo was presented in Melee.

I love how you like to claim that I throw that fact around yet there's someone else here who likes to bring it up every single time I make a post...

And I never said I spoke for the majority. I said it really matters to a few people. That doesn't mean that it doesn't matter to a lot of people. It means that chances are it's not going to be a majority who think it's a huge deal coolest thing ever, and that there are going to be people who will completely not care about the Pokemon stuff, and that there are going to be people who would rather it not be in there at all.

Which is how a certain someone on here acts.

Besides everything else you said which is rather obvious and common sense, the part I posted above is just your opinion. You don't know the chances and you don't know the majority so you really can't speak for them.

I may think that chances are it's going to be a majority who think it's a huge deal.

Not that I'm saying that I think that or not because I don't know and neither do you, but it's still opinion.

You must know this.

See, I really don't think that's going to be the case anymore. Pokemon is just not nearly as popular in the US as it was 10 years ago.

And apparently I must explicitly state "THIS IS MY OPINION" to be sure everyone realises that that's what I'm saying...sheesh...

Well I can see how one would come to that conclusion based on that fact.

Hmmm.....I don't know though......a lot of people, particularly younger kids are out there that are new to Pokemon and it's a brand new thing for them.

Well it is just your opinion so oh well. To each his own.

I honestly don't know what the majority thinks of Pokemon anymore.

Anata wa wakarimasu ka.....

The cool thing is that a forum like this is a pretty good representation of people on the whole. So look just around in here: How many are as freakishly obsessed with Pokemon as you are? Now expand that for a fairly accurate assessment of the whole.

I agree with Lana; for the majority Pokemon is not a huge deal.

I was thinking more about the Last Lucas Update and how I said it pretty much confirmed for me that he'll be a replacement for Ness.

But now I'm thinking more on it and we all know that these games have had their clones..............so I guess it's still just as possible for Ness to be in the game, although I think it would be a waste being that him and Lucas's moves are kind of similar. Yeah there are some changes, but not enough to warrant a whole other character and one we're not even that familiar with at that.

Hmmm.......

All in all they could have just given Ness some of the new moves they gave Lucas.

I much prefer Ness.

Anata wa wakarimasu ka.....

Oh, nice topic change. Very smooth and imperceptible. 🙄

I would really not be surprised or very sad if Lucas replaced Ness. After all, Lucas is the main character of Mother 3, which is considered the most-anticipated and, by many, best of the series.

If Lucas does replace Ness, it's likely Ness will remain as an alternate skin.

I still like an idea I had a while back where you'd be able to play as a Pokemon and evolve in battle, whether automatically or manually. Doesn't look like that's going to happen, but that would have definitely been grand.

Of course the Pokemon Trainer Character Play Scheme definitely was something I hadn't anticipated and definitely makes up for it a bit.

😊

If a playable pokemon character was able to evolve in SSBB, I'm sure that it would be his/her final smash.

Oh yeah. Good Point.

I'm sure that's the only way it would actually happen as well.

I like the idea of it actually happening in battle not as a Final Smash though.

Anata wa wakarimasu ka.....

Besides being a final smash, how else would the playable pokemon evolve?
