are you kidding?

its a fine update, the fact that you dont even know that a CPU takes over their spot is awesome

i hated that in mario soccer, I never even finish a game because almost everyone i play with has a bad connection

And I have no idea as to how any of us can have any kind of idea as to what the next update may be. There is no pattern. There's no way to tell.

Tongue Twister?

Anata wa wakarimasu ka.....

It was a way of telling him to drop it, it was a code to tell him that the statement to a previous engagement was in the past, my statement was completely off that subject and created a new line, a sub-line to the main conversation, therefor my line was completely honest. 😛

Sakurai my boy. You're a genius.

"You can earn most characters by playing through Adventure Mode: The Subspace Emissary. For those of you who look forward to those encounters, I recommend you clear this mode before playing Basic Brawl."

Ridley, and perhaps a new-and-improved Mewtwo... I look forward to unlocking thee =) (they were likely to be part of the SE anyway).

Well that makes it more enjoyable, and more rewarding.

I don't like the fact that you can't tell when a CPU is switched in. I don't want to play against CPUs.

It's done so that you can actually finish a match instead of the other 3 being kicked out of a battle they were perfectly happy with because some loser shut off his system in frustration. Not being able to tell the switch is a good thing; it means no interrupted online matches.

And if you're really anal enough that you can't stand the thought, well... just play with friends.

That goes for me, too.

Your opponents might get disconnected at the start of the match, and you'll be fighting the computer for the entire time.

Exactly.

I mean.....it's not as bad if it's like 3 humans and 1 CPU, but you'd never know.

Not to mention......what skill level would the CPU's fight at?

Good question.

that is discouraging but i hate to be in the middle of a match then have it cut on you

that pretty much sums it up 😄..

What's the point in finishing a match if it's not against the same person that you started with?

Yeah........I see the point if it's like 4 people and one or maybe even 2 leaves...........or 3 people and 1 leaves....but if it's 1 on 1 and the other player leaves.......yeah........it sucks..............being that you can't tell how many leaves..........it all just sucks.

My guess is that, due to your win/loss ratio online, you'll get a certain number that denotes your skill level. Then, in a match, if someone has to duck out, a CPU will sub in that's a close match to his skill level.

I'll dislike not knowing if a CPU character is in, which sounds like what's happening...

Err, putting that aside...

About this quote from the latest update...

"But even without this mode, given the proliferation of the Internet these days, the existence of hidden characters is going to get exposed anyway."

Apparently someone claiming to work for Prima (the company that makes those 'official guide books' that Nintendo Power doesn't make anymore) has recently leaked info concerning the game's full character roster. 😛

http://nintendrone.blog.com/2368798/

Since there have been leaks about info concerning Metroid Prime 3, Super Mario Galaxy, and what not before their release that turned out to be true in the end, I guess that rumor could be true as well 😬... but I'm indifferent about it until it's proven.

Whether it is or not though, I lol at the thought of an Animal Crossing Villager being a playable character. D: The others are fine though.

And please people..........if you look at the link, please keep the roster list to yourself or post in spoilers. Just in case the info in the link is true, I won't be looking at it.

It's possible since there's an Animal Crossing stage and symbol.

I won't be looking at it either.

I was under the impression that there wouldn't be any playable Animal Crossing characters due to Mr. Resetti (or however you spell it) being an assist trophy and Tom Nook just being a stage-background figure... but since there is the AC symbol as you said, I guess it's possible. 😬

I believe that was the aim of Sakurai's "you won't be able to tell they've been dropped." I think the game gauges your skill level, and if your connection dies it replaces you with a CPU of equivalent level.

And again, you're really looking at this the wrong way I think. Most likely players will receive ratings for online play, similar to Star Fox Command, which will increase/decrease based on win/loss ratio. If that's the case, cowards would kill their connection so as to not let better players get better ratings (which is exactly what happened with Command and Mario Kart and Metroid Prime Hunters). This way, people don't get cheated out of their wins by brats who can't stand to lose.
