I agree with the others you mentioned, but I'm pretty sure he got replaced by Lucas this time around.
Besides, if Ness weren't returning Sakurai would have said so, and he wouldn't have made Lucas's move set different from Ness's. Their move sets are like Mario's and Luigi's, if you think about it.

Ridley - Probably an AT

At any rate, I don't mind Ness being in again, so it's all good. 👆

Except none of the ATs so far (Samurai Goroh, Lyn, etc.) have gotten their own theme song in the game, nor have any of the ATs gotten their own exclusive stage either. Not to mention, Ridley's far too important a character to just be added as a Pokemon knockoff.
Besides, they already have Metroid (the creature) as an AT. No need for another Metroid AT character. Then by that, I can safely say if Ridley was to be made an AT, that there would be no purpose for the Norfair stage.

See my post above yours R-P I agree totally.

Nah Fawful is to good for that, so is Ridley.
I guarantee you Fawful will not be playable, and I am almost sure Ridley will be an AT. He's too much of a ferocious beast-dragon to be playable.
All the other characters have pupils.

Now that you mention it, Ridley would likely be a boss. It's not that he's not important; screw Dark Samus, Ridley is Samus's nemesis. He just seems to be too huge and uncontrollable to be playable.
How would he fit in? What would his moves be? The only thing I see that he has going for him is that he fits into the new gliding thing.

And he's basically the same shape as Ridley (wings, a tail, etc).

JK, read my post edit.
Originally posted by Kero_CoBe serious dude. Charizard is almost like the second most popular Pokemon next to Pikachu. He's leagues ahead of Ridley in popularity. That's why the three starter Pokemon from Red and Blue were chosen.
Charizard isn't that popular, certainly not more popular than Ridley(about equal), although pokemon is more popular than metroid. If your wondering why that is, blame stealth rock, but as far as I know Infernape is more popular than Charizard, and he's behind Gyarados, Blissey, and Garchomp.
Many people don't even know who Ridley is, or that Samus is even a girl. Charizard is even recognized by non-gamers.
WTF is Infernape? Garchomp?

Charizard is like the second most popular Pokemon of all time...next to Pikachu. Ridley is no where near as popular as Charizard.
