Super Smash Bros Brawl

You could just play a regular brawl against CPU. Adjust its level so that it doesn't beat your ass while you're trying to learn.
You'll probably want to play the story mode thing as well, to unlock all the characters and stages.

As for a character to play, Mario has always been beginner friendly.
You'll eventually want to try all of them though.

Is the story mode the one that starts in the stadium, and the characters start off as statues?

My game is in Japanese...

Yeah that's it.

I think you can switch the language to English in the options.
Try messing around in the menu, options should be the last choice on the menu.

Awesome sig MB!

OK, I've been playing it a bit more, and I'm starting to get the idea...you need to juggle the dudes, and then hit em big, right? I like the little purple monster that shoots water.

Can't seem to find the English option, are you sure it's available on the Japanese version? Can you find it?

English language isn't going to be available on a Japanese copy. That's why there are English releases.

I can get a Gamecube controller pretty cheap, so I'll look into that. Which is a good game mode to start on? There's so many I don't really know what's going on...Also, which character would you recommend? At the moment, I like Pit and Purpleballbat...

training mode, to get the characters moveset figured out..then you go to brawl mode and set the AI level to 1...when you get better move th ai level up a bit..
i understand you cant figure out the language, so just hit all the buttons until you find the ones that i described 😛

In an attempt to be helpful, there's likely a guide somewhere online to tell you what all the Japanese-branded buttons mean.

Any idea where to look for something like that?

Dude, skip the training, just fight the AI level one... they don't even put up any offense. I think the last time I fought one it attacked like five times.

Well, after seeing all the differences pointed out between Fox,

Spoiler:
Falco
, and
Spoiler:
Wolf
...

YouTube video

It's official now that

Spoiler:
Wolf
will be one of my main characters for sure. 🙂
Spoiler:
His blaster is much more powerful than Fox's and Falco's too, and his taunts are the most badass, even if his fighter stance is freakishly weird.

I still hate the final smash he was given though, with a passion.

The best characters that I've played so far are Pit and Meta Knight. They cool. They good flying recovery, too. They they.

Yeah it is very poor.

A most pleasing video. I actually rather like what they've done. It's very much like they all went to the same military academy (which, historically, they did, all at the same time) and augmented the basics with their personal styles and strengths.

I like

Spoiler:
Wolf's
stance, too. Very feral and wild, it suits him well. Seems like Fox is the most refined,
Spoiler:
Falco
is barely in control, and
Spoiler:
Wolf
is a living lawnmower of slicing doom.

Nice analogy. 😛

I cant wait till March 10th so we can stop with this spoiler bullshit. 🙄

😂

Meh. I guess that's one good way of looking at it (as to why they all have the same final smashes), but
Spoiler:
I still would've preferred Falco using the Arwing for his final smash, and Wolf calling in his team of Wolfens to attack the other players.

Indeed 😎, especially the part about
Spoiler:
Wolf
.

Same here. It's not like I enjoy having to use these tags.

These spoilers are starting to annoy me, but as you said some final smashes could be better then others.

How and when can you do these magical 'final smashes'?
