Sonic is already in game, they're just waiting for Sega's permission to use him, otherwise we'd just have to wait for the next installment.

uhmm no he just hasnt been officially announced yet

or, like sonic, he is in the game but nintendo had to have some kind of copyright thing to show him

all of the characters have not yet been announced

My guess is that Nintendo only posted the characters that are guaranteed to be in SSBB. Since Snake is owned by another company, anything can happen...

we just have to wait for the updates

It's because Snake's one of those characters you'll have to unlock when one gets the game. I could be wrong, but I think he's the only hidden/secret character revealed so far...

That's basically what happened in Melee, you had, what, 8 characters and had to unlock the rest? I wouldn't be surprised if we start off with maybe, Mario, Luigi, Peach, Donkey Kong, Samus, Adult Link, Kirby, and maybe Metaknight, and one more character this time.

Or any fighting game at that, you always have to unlock most of the characters.

well so far there are 9 confirmed characters that were starter characters in melee and 3 new people

my guess is that he wont say what the secret characters are, nobody did for melee

that would kind of ruin the surprise a bit IMO

I'm pretty sure that SSBB will start off with more characters than SSBM.

ya it should but who knows you might have some people from the DS like the hunters from metroyed hunters. or even some from final fantasy but that is only a gess. but 2 guys i want are Ganion and Ridley. but who knows they might cut ganion and not even put Ridley in but that is only a gess
