I got up to 101 Stars before I started getting pissed off from the Purple Coin Missions and put down the controller. uhuh

Yeah, srsly.

Anyway, I'm now trying to decide if I still like Mario enough to give SSB a chance. haermm

Meh. Anyhow, I got all 120 stars with Luigi not too long ago (mainly out of boredom) and just beat the Grand Finale Galaxy with both him and Mario, so uh, yay? 🤨

Weird coincidence that this thread got bumped around the time I finally decided to finish taking care of that (I took a long break from the game after getting all 120 with Mario).

Nah, I'm messing with ya. But I do find it funny that so many people have trouble with the purple coins and the only two I had trouble with was the Boneyard and Luigi (Toy Time) one.

My little ol' Wii is still sitting alone at home with Super Mario Galaxy in it waiting to be played. Still early in the game last time I played. I had just made it to the 3rd Galaxy. The Kitchen.

Super sunny fun-fun-fun, but those purple coin levels do my head in! I'm stuck somewhere around 108 stars, but I can't seeing myself putting all the effort in to get Luigi out and about.

Great game, but they shoulda, woulda, coulda hada more red-star flying and less stupid swimming and coil-bounching.

Maybe for you; I found the swimming levels to be my favorite ones.

Can agree about too few red-star flying missions, also some of the purple coin challenges were terrible.

Nah, they were boring and annoying. Flying where's it at. Ice skating was fun too, but a bigger area was needed.

I disagree, I loved the water levels. Some of my favourite levels in the game were swimming levels.

Swimming levels were awesome.

Shell Surfing is where it's at!!

Nah, the water levels were just below the purple coin missions on the annoyance scale. lol

Meh. Never knew the guy well, so I don't have much to say.

Aside from that, I was disappointed by the lack of red-star flying too, but IMO, it sure beats the flying/wings cap from Super Mario 64. Not to mention, flying in SMG is a lot easier to handle. You could also stop in mid-air to look around, whereas in SM 64, you could hardly even control the direction when flying...
