Imo Vulcan was fighting like an idiot he was just blasting around while he coud shut off Glads nerve system without any trouble . Anyway at least Gladiator get's some respect these days.

So now Vulcan has a scar like Cable? 😕

the scar appears to be a straight line down his face, crossing his eye. the energy flare coming from the eye made it look like cable. and his costume when he took the dead soldier's cape looks an awful lot like corsair's. i can't tell whether it's complete crap or utter genius.

also, how would he have shut off gladiator's nervous system when the two of them agreed vulcan couldn't touch him?

Nah. Gladiator's powers are all based on his confidence and belief in himself. If he believes he can't be touched by Vulcan, then nothing will touch him.

Why Gladiator loses to anyone at all is still a wonder to me...

in the big splash page, sway appears to be using her powers on mystique and sabretooth at the same time. she says she can't use a time field in the same place twice, nothing about two places at once.

yeah. so she's not going to. still has nothing to do with one person at a time.

the last scan also has nothing to do with vulcan cancelling other powers.

if vulcan had done what darwin did, scott and rachel wouldn't have regained use/control of their powers, since that part of their brain would be dead. and scott's "control" center isn't what needs to be checked in order to stop his power, considering the "brain damage" issue.

i'm just saying that just because darwin stopped vulcan that way, it doesn't imply vulcan stopped rachel and scott the same way. the lower hippocampus may not be the control center for all mutant powers, nor would vulcan possess the means to simply kill it. and, as i said, that method wouldn't make sense in the deadly genesis plot, considering rachel and scott regained their powers. he probably just used his ability to manipulate energy to stop them from outputting any.

These ridiculously over-powered characters are getting a little old, Vulcan is one of the worst. It seems like Marvel is just pumping everyone up in the hope it will draw in more readers. 🙄

that's an assumption you can't justify. when darwin was separated, vulcan fell to the ground screaming, clearly marking it as a traumatic event. that, the fact that he was in pain, could've been reason enough for his limitation of scott's power to wain. there is no mention, on panel, that darwin was the factor which allowed gabriel to control scott or rachel's powers.

scott's powers returned, giving him an opening to shoot at vulcan. vulcan deflected the shot. whether or not he would have or could have turned scott's powers back off remains unseen, considering he was attacked by logan, piotr and kitty in quick succession immediately after. then, he shot off some energy and flew away.

also, if it had been darwin, using the technique you're citing, that controlled at least rachel's powers, she wouldn't have been able to mind-link with vulcan and the professor, let alone the rest of the x-men. that part of her brain wouldn't be functional.

also, fianna, good choice of songs with the location and signature. good CD all around, that one.

actually darwin didnt have anything to do with him, shutting off thier pwoers, that was plain ol TK. what darwin allowed him to do was absorb everybody elses powers IIRC, but when he was separated he could no longer earthbend, and do the time thing.
