Talk about being simplistic. Perhaps I'm a bit too experienced in such things, but there are alternatives to pulling out a gun my friend.

A common criminal would get a weapon anyways. Get it? He or she is a criminal, therefore they commit crimes, therefore they break rules and regulations, therefore they BREAK laws. Simply banning guns will not stop anyone from getting leathal weapons anyways.

Even better, the robber not having a gun in the first place.

He's a criminal, obeying gun laws isn't his first priority obviously. So whether or not criminals have guns has no impact on gun bans anyway. They will continue to pack.

Also, the problem is "normal" people getting all crazy and killing their neighbours with guns they have.....

Seriously, I happen to live in a country where it is hard to access a gun....and I have no fear of ever getting shot...it's a nice feeling....

Well I live in a part of the US where damn near 80% of the population has a gun in their house and guess what there is maybe one shooting a year and its done in a robbery or such. Owning a gun doesn't mean people run out and shoot people. So I know that feeling also and there are guns all around.

Simpler:

Less guns = less people with guns.

Abstract:

No gun = no cry.

Simplest:

Less guns = less gun-related deaths.

Well, that is good for you, but the fact remains that the US has 300 times the gun crime rate than Europe.

Also, if it's true that you only have one shooting a year, let me ask the obvious question: WHAT THE **** DO YOU PEOPLE NEED GUNS FOR ANYWAYS?

Though your chances if continuing to live that way are high, the probability of a pressured individual suddenly losing it (possibly owning a gun) could kill countless innocence before a small military force finally stops him or her.

Why not, its not a problem where I live now. Most of the problems are in the larger cities with crazy population density in the USA. Drugs and mad thug like appeal are all about carrying the guns and those would be illegals now. I don't see how placing a gun ban on legal gun carrying citizens would benefit. Its criminals causing the biggest problems.

Why not is not necessarily a sufficient answer....what the hell do you need to own a gun for? Why do you even care if they are banned..I mean you have only one shooting a year.....that won't increase ....

Its not going to necessarily decrease either, gun's clearly aren't contributing to a problem here (where I live.) If its not broke what are you attempting to fix?

Also the UN needs to shut its piehole and keep to International affairs. If the USA wants to allow gun ownership especially in homes thats our right. The UN needs to go allocate their resources (which is a big chunk of US dollars anyway) into Africa or some other situation where their help is needed.
