I'd say considering the that wolverine comments about having to hold on to it for a bit and that he also comments on his muscles straining, the feat kinda speaks for itself...

He never commented on how long he held it in that pic.

After looking at it again, his arm only looks just slightly bent.

So slight, that it looks as if its just the perspective of the panel giving the illusion of it being slightly bent.

wolvie wins

try "bending your arm with" holding up as much weight as you can bench in one hand (make sure it's angling) and THEN tell me your not lifting it... 🙄

Silly boy Wolverine in that picture with that elevator isn't a good feat to show for lifting strength. If thats how you lift and brag to your friends what you lift you are in for a sad life. Enough of this feat anyway, it doesn't change the fact Deadpool beats Wolverine here.

It's true that two of the more impressive Cap feats can't match up to the more impressive Wolverine feats, if we ARE to believe he was even SLIGHTLY bending has arm in the elevator shaft. (I still contend, however, that him holding that elevator is more a testament to his grip than his curling capabilities, but regardless) However, we have never seen Cap really strain with anything. As I pointed out before, he was EASILY pressing that weight, while casually chatting. Not something you do if you are going all out. He chunks around a 750 pound woman at two other baddies, while making a quick little quip about it.

1100 pounds, 750 pounds, these feats are impressive, but they are by no means Cap's limit. I still cannot force myself to put wolverine in a higher class than Captain America. Regardless of him being 'almost Cap-esque' before weapon X, the feats that both characters have pulled off are just too comparable.

I very much doubt, however, that either of our opinions will be swayed, and I will reiterate that I truly believe it comes down to semantics. As I said, I'm not arguing that Wolverine CAN'T pull off the feats he does (except maybe the nuke one.... 😕 ), I am only arguing that Cap could probably boast the same. Well, not including the elevator feat, as I still believe that Wolverine only pulled it off because of his adamantium skeleton and death-grip.

Okay, I just read Thunderbolts number 4 where Wolverine faces off against Swordsman, and there was no mention of Wolverine having superhuman strength.

When was it established that Cap and Wolvie where in the war together?

I know it was, but I just don't remember when or what issue.

wolverine wins this to me since it is said he knows more forms of martial arts and he would find a way to counter whatever daedpool wasfighting him with

Hahahaha, if you want to do it that way, what about when Deadpool beat Taskmaster? I loved that, he literally danced circles around him. Deadpool has been shown to invent martial arts. Wolverine won't be able to counter every single thing that Deadpool throws at him.

Oh, and this is one problem I have with Wolverine. The damned inconsistent writing! As someone said in another thread, for such a GRAND MASTER of fighting, Wolverine sure as hell gets hit a lot. Too many writers just have him rely on his healing factor. I'd rather see him show his real skills. If he can dodge bullets, I would be more impressed to see him dodge it than take it in the face. I KNOW he can heal from a bullet to the skull. I would rather see him dodge it and own his attacker in a Batman/Captain America style.

That is one of the reasons I think Wolverine would be a better character if he didn't (or at least acted like he didn't) have a healing factor. I know its imperitive to his character, but Logan would take fights more seriously, be more careful, look like he actually knows how to fight.

Enough ranting. I noted that Wolverine had better skill, but Deadpool is superior in almost every way physically. It more than makes up for it.

Wolverine would do what Hartigan did to the yellow bastard in sin city and beat his head into a bloody pulp with his unbreakable fist of fury.

Thunderbolts # 4 mentions that Wolverine has enhanced strength. Of course according to Marvel's current stats "Enhanced Strength" ranges into the 20 ton range, so some would consider it "Superhuman".

Wolverine and Cap fought together during WW2 in Uncanny X-Men # 268. Where he once again showed he is familiar with more martial arts forms than Captain America.

Bumpo for the guy starting the other deadpool thread!
