That's about all I was given. Today I was told that a place can be an artifact. (What.)

I think anthropology disagrees.

I'm going about it as a creative writing project, which is something I've never done before (at this scale). Also it's in second person?

Is this an English class? Because really, fvck English.

Edit: Also Neph, stop hating Star Trek and go watch Star Trek '09 and stfu.

Yeah it's English.

It's also really fun. (But difficult because I'm not in writing condition yet!)

I loved Star Trek 09. I just loath the Prime Directive.

Vocally.

Go watch Dear Doctor and try to say that.

You're still a physics major, right?

Nothing beats theoretical physics as it pertains to outer space. Also, Deus Ex so far has been one of the very few sequels/prequels that follow continuity to a T.

ha

Economics, with a healthy serving of Math (I get a minor just with Calc 3) and Philosophy.

sighs.

I wish I was in school.

Yeah, student loans are the shit.

😐

Go to school when you think you have some idea of what you'd do with it, and no sooner, but make the time off productive.

lol, i know what I'm doing with my school:

Grad School

So you're putting you or your parents in debt because you want to be....what?

I can't get student loans until I;m 25, apparently. My parents make too much money.

That... makes absolutely no sense, Blax.

I'm the same boat, except my parents can afford to pay for some of it (by pulling from their retirement.) Yeah, it's bullshit.

I already told you: a grad student 😛

I'm not going in to debt; scholarships cover the cost of undergrad. Living expenses (i.e. spending money) are all I need, and I worked for the whole summer. I'm set for now.

But... that's not at all the same boat.

Spoiler:
Did I miss a massive heaping of sarcasm in Blax's post?

No.

I'm not sure what the problem is, tbh. What part of my post confused you?

Sorry, but I until I Google'd it I'd just never heard of someone being turned down for loans because of too much income. Not a terrible problem to have, to be frank.

I guess it makes sense for federal loans, but you can always go for a private deal through something like Sallie Mae.

And have them rape you on the interest rates? Great idea

So far I haven't had to deal with my college loans too much. My scholarship has been staving off a chunk of it and my parents are taking the brunt for the moment.

In any case, my next paycheck should be just under $1000, which is something I've never pulled off. I've gone full-time at my hotel and am looking at a possible promotion.

I might be totally insane for doing this while also being a full-time student.

I guess if you don't want to go college, sure. As it stands, unless I want to get a loan through a private org like you said, it won't be possible for me to attend a university until I'm 25. The whole idea behind the concept of barring someone from financial aid due to their parents' income is flawed, because it doesn't take into account the possibility that just because the parents have a high salary that doesn't necessarily mean they can afford to send the kid to college.

Case in point, my parents are divorced and I pay 3/4ths of my Mom's bills, including the rent. If I didn't work full time we'd have been evicted by now. My Dad owes like 70,000 to the IRS and lives from paycheck to paycheck, usually borrowing about 200 bucks from me a month.

So, the fact that they have a combined income of like 140K a year is irrelevant, in that sense. Which is frustrating. I can't get a loan to pay for school because they make too much money, and yet my parents can't pay for my tuition because they're horrible money managers, and what's even worse, I can't even quit my job because my Mom depends on that extra income. Where does that leave me? Up the creek. /rant
