RE: Blaxican
I guess if you don't want to go college, sure. As it stands, unless I want to get a loan through a private org like you said, it won't be possible for me to attend a university until I'm 25. The whole idea behind the concept of barring someone from financial aid due to their parents' income is flawed, because it doesn't take into account the possibility that just because the parents have a high salary that doesn't necessarily mean they can afford to send the kid to college.Case in point, my parents are divorced and I pay 3/4ths of my Mom's bills, including the rent. If I didn't work full time we'd have been evicted by now. My Dad owes like 70,000 to the IRS and lives from paycheck to paycheck, usually borrowing about 200 bucks from me a month.
So, the fact that they have a combined income of like 140K a year is irrelevant, in that sense. Which is frustrating. I can't get a loan to pay for school because they make too much money, and yet my parents can't pay for my tuition because they're horrible money managers, and what's even worse, I can't even quit my job because my Mom depends on that extra income. Where does that leave me? Up the creek. /rant
I understand most scholarships are out because of your performance in high school, but what are the rates at your local community colleges? The one nearest to me back home costs a bit under two thousand dollars a semester.
But I guess you wouldn't be able to enroll until your folks get their shit together, huh? What is your dad doing that you can (and have to) cover three quarters of your mothers expenses (which tells me she's not the one making the money between the two of them) and he still has to borrow two hundred bucks a month from you/not pay his dues to The Man?

Cruel. In Germany, you get away with about 200-750 Euro per semester in University.

I suppose the answer is: He told a nice story.
But then again, I think that wasting money can't be that hard in a country, where the average guy owns 3 to 12 credit cards and is used to pay the price for the first with using the second - and so on...

I see, that you're still inable to understand hyperboles. Or was that just a question? 😉
Acording to "Focus" (German business mag, November 2008), there were one billion credit cards on the US market three years ago. That are 3,21 credit cards for the average american, translating into about a dozen plastic cards being present in every household. The practice in giving a second credit card to somebody who was about to exceed his limit on the first was also quite common. Sure thing. Banks lost 3 billion on customers not able to pay any longer, while cashing 18 billion on surcharges for debts paid lately. Epic win there.
Not even mentioning interest rate ranging from 18 to 32 percent, which is about as close to piracy you can get, without doing anything illegal. 😉

Been in a similar situation for years. Took some outside support to basically bail my ass out of that, trust me.
This may be the most badass front cover I've ever done. Too bad it doesn't actually exist. Fun fact, the photoshop file for this image is 350 mb at a 16bit RGB channel.

EDIT - Fvck that, it was stretching the screen.
