Sitting in a coffee house.

Guy two tables over is on a date.

Tells the girl: "I'm the kind of guy who likes to go all out...like every year on December 26th I would go out and buy like 200$ worth of Christmas lights, year after year, like until I needed backup generators.
[...]
I would rather have that than the Nobel Peace prize."
Girl: "um, wow."

Yeah, wow...

You sit in coffee houses. Are you an aspiring writer? *haughty laugh*

No safe response to a condescending post? Why not try Zoidberg?

That's a good idea:

No offence intended. I don't want to seem like I'm bashing you, whoever you might be.

I'm not sure who exactly it is that you think I am but I'm not in the business of defending myself against such outrageous accusations so I will kindly ignore those comments and stick to discussing Braid.

It's easy to imply that I'm appealing to these big claims that have no basis in truth but the fact remains that everything I said about Braid is true and can be documented from in-game evidence; the storyline is incredibly multifaceted and allegorical (

Spoiler:
the storyline is very poetic and dreamlike, and is constructed in a manner that depending on from which perspective you look at it the storyline can be interpreted as anything from a man out to save his loved one from an evil monster, to a man out to sexually assault a woman he's been stalking, to the entire story essentially serving as a metaphor of the atomic bomb
) and is filled with interesting philosophical ideas regarding time manipulation and the consequences of your actions that is pefectly symbolised by the style of the accompanying gameplay, and the final level
Spoiler:
that begins with time in reverse and creates a scene of you as the hero helping the princess escape, only for when time to be played in proper order and you suddenly see that you are in fact chasing the princess and that she's trying to escape from you
was an absolute moment of genius in misdirection and subtle, complex imagery, and using gameplay to communicate a story.

The gameplay featured in Braid was throuroughly original and unique to the game at the time of its release; the ability to use time travel to dictate the motion of a an alternate universe doppleganger that could be used to assist you in the level space, to having time flow in relation to your movement, to levels being constructed where parts of it react normally to time and parts exist outside of time or are affected differently by time etc., accompanied by a very specific puzzle based platform level design created for some of the most incredibly unique gameplay you could ever come across. You might not have been incredibly entertained by the gameplay but whether it was original or not is not up for discussion.

Edit - For the record Nephthys I think you'll find that the vast majority of professional reviewers and gamers have very similar things to say about the game, if it's at all your intention to imply that I'm somehow alone in my thoughts regarding the game and that I'm talking nonsense regarding it being incredibly original and a true work of art.

Ah, spoilers. He's one of them.

It's obvious from the fact that you felt the need to put that in spoilers that you think I haven't played that game before.

It's treason, then?

I really liked that line in the Clone Wars episode one of you guys was talking about the other day (S4ep.10). Besides the part where clones were charging a guy with unblockable laser death sticks, excellent episode. If that's the level of quality I should expect, it is probably worth it to try to get current. (I've seen like 5 episodes completely, maybe.)

Twas me. Best episode so far--though considering the usual quality they give us, that's a hollow compliment. Still... good episode. They did a decent job of making us hate Krell and question why the Jedi tolerate him--I was already chalking it up to their typical lazy writing. And BAM!--

Spoiler:
secret fallen Jedi with Sithly aspirations.
All in all, the show's steadily improving. I'm hoping for more arcs like this to pop up, as well as the main cast getting some much needed character development. I appreciated one episode during the Cad Bane arc that had Anakin and Padme spending time together and talking like normal people. Stuff like that makes them feel more real.

Maybe its just me but (as good as the episode was) im kind of confused about the Clone's loyalty. Maybe they will explain more later, but going from this episode to Order 66 just is not making sense to me right now.

That got me wondering too. I understand the need to actually have 'people' in the show, thus the Clones behaving as such, but the programmed obedience is being called in to question a lot. Rex and his unit aren't ARCs (though the greater individuality and thinking of ARCs has been downplayed with the promotion of regular Clones to ARC level), so I don't know how they're writing off their free-spirited attitude. Maybe they'll introduce more plots of Jedi f*cking over Clones, thereby fostering a long-lasting resentment and mistrust. There's still 2 years of the war left (somehow, I don't know how all 4 seasons have taken place in one year) so there's still time to 'fix' the Clone's problem.

And Ahsoka's.

Well said.

The OT was so much better seriously. I mean even stormtroopers were given much more characterization and development than clones or droids. You definitely got the impression that they were 'real people' simply doing their jobs. And the level of emotion was much, much higher. Remember when Luke returned home to find his aunt and uncle brutally murdered? There was a moment where he looked really sad. He didn't cry or anything, but there was just a blank look of utter desolation. Same for Leia when she watched her homeworld vaporize-- no tears, no anguished moans, and she seemed in good spirits when Han and Luke rescued her from the Death Star, almost as if she forgot about what happened, but you just know that it was deliberate. A front designed to hide her deep pain. Or when Leia professed to Han that she loved him and he said, "I know"? Badass.

George needs to take a trip down memory lane if he wants this show to do better.

I like the bit after Luke destroys the Death star and they're all celebrating and Han runs up and bear hugs Luke. Daaaw.

****. He knocked that right out of the park. Good for him. We need more awesome dudes like him.

Seen it. He's wonderful.
