The Battle Bar, Our Wretched Hive of Scum and Villainy

lol.

Is that where your senses were overloaded?

Nah, I managed to finish the first part pretty well. It's rough, and in dire need of polishing, but it is creative at its root.

The Engrish aspect though is simply win.

Wat.

**** this gay earth.

A kick to the nuts is sexual harassment? In high school I was suspended for kicking a guy in the nuts after he punched me in the face--they called it a 'physical altercation'. But sexual harassment?

F*ck this gay earth.

That's pathetic.

This is what you guys wanted, right? "oh noes dem poor bullied kids society should intervene." This is what happens when PC adults get involved with kids' affairs. Ridiculous over-exaggerations like this.

Who is you guys? This is a victory for the left and our current pussy generation.

facepalm

So basically, wanting bullying to cease (let's ignore that it's ILLEGAL in some states) leads to....

Some stupid parent wrongfully accusing groin-punching as "sexual harassment"?

That's like saying "Oh great, we legalized cars. Bob hits a pole and is charged with NOISE POLLUTION. ARE YOU HAPPY?!" Let's not be completely off-base here.

Lynch’s son, Mark Curran, who wears his light-brown hair in a Mohawk, said he has been afraid to return to Tynan Elementary School in South Boston since the fight.

What's the relevance of the mohawk in this article? Are mohawk-ers prone to sexually harassing their mortal enemies with dick-punches?

I guess all these great reasons why bullying is negative aren't really why it's being outlawed in some states. No, it must be because of corn fructose syrup conspiracies and the feminization of the West.

What do you think would be a good way to deter kids from bullying each other?

I don't understand why all bullying needs to be outlawed Janus. For being part of the "relativism" crowd, you sure hate to make distinctions on social issues. Bullying is a part of growing up, simple as that. Our generation went through it and we didn't ***** and moan, we moved past it and came out better people. Granted, this doesn't include extreme versions of bullying or cyberbullying, but really? Sexual harrassment?

Shock collars.

No really, awareness among teachers and parents for signs so they can deal with the situation. This example is not an example of "anti-bullying done wrong"; the kid accused is actually being bullied and as we read his mother was unable to render much assistance from the schools. But when his opponent is struck, that mother suddenly has legation going on. I suspect it's this:

Mohawk kid's mom is probably single in a neighborhood that's stuck in the 50s. Therefore, her kid isn't worthy of much attention or sympathy, but the other kids get full rights because they have mommies and daddies and thus adhere to the neighborhood ideal better. Thus, the school authorities alienate the kid and his mother and favor the others.

Does this sound unlikely? It's not. The same thing happened to me. I had a single mother and we were relatively poor in an upper-middle class, white Protestant neighborhood. When a kid blasted me in the ribs with a punch (and he was a good 4 inches taller than me and twice as wide at that point), my mother raged to the school authorities. The principal and VP basically said to her this:

"But Jeff says your son called him a ******!"

My mother was -stunned- to say the least. They completely overlooked the fact that I was sucker punched because the other boy asserted that I had insulted his sexuality. Really. This stuff happens.

So back to your question, I think schools themselves need to be better observed for adherence to anti-bullying policies. I've learned that typically unless you say "bullying" itself (a buzzword, like "Sexual harassment"😉 the school may not really intervene. This is especially true if the parent is part of a social minority. Only by using the buzzwords can you put the fear of legal action into the hearts of the school authorities and stop the abuse.

Looking at the link I posted, it's clear that bullying has serious adverse effects on children and ruins lives for some of the less fortunate. Whether you feel they are "weak" is irrelevant; they have a legal right to protection under law. And advocating bullying violates that right.

I don't understand why all bullying needs to be outlawed Janus.

See above. It's harmful for the victims and it actually has adverse effects on the bullies themselves. I shouldn't have to make an argument for how "bad" wrong things are. That's like needing to quantify sunlight before we can discuss the weather.

For being part of the "relativism" crowd, you sure hate to make distinctions on social issues.

It's very difficult to pigeon-hole folks when you really get to know them, but that aside, this isn't about relativism versus absolutism, etc. It's about social ethics. It is ethically wrong to deny someone protection from another in a society when the victim is innocent. To say otherwise would be to throw the entire criminal justice system into doubt, since victims could be "asking for it" or "it's natural, **** those weaklings". Society has to be firm on the legal rights of its citizens and especially firm on laws protecting children since they are easily damaged.

Bullying is a part of growing up, simple as that. Our generation went through it and we didn't ***** and moan, we moved past it and came out better people. Granted, this doesn't include extreme versions of bullying or cyberbullying, but really? Sexual harrassment?

Right, and sexual molestation and rape by friends and family members is extremely common too. One third of women are raped in most cases. Hell, that's enough to be considered "part of growing up", right? So let's stop protecting sexual abuse while we're at it. Sure, some "weak" kids might get ****ed up, but who cares about them? Those of us who endured it or lucked out and didn't get it that bad are FINE!

Is that your argument?

Nope, I never said do nothing. That's like me claiming you want any kind of bullying banned? Is that what you want?

Also, where are the numbers that support your argument? Didn't see them on the "stopbullying" site.

How gay, this is the last weekend for beta testing and I haven't even been able to finish one class. Anyways Janus, I found out the final outcome of the SI class and it was as anticlimatic as the Revan novel.

Feel free to share it. I didn't even get an invite this weekend, which sucks because I'm not burdened with finals papers or anything for once.
