The Battle Bar, Our Wretched Hive of Scum and Villainy

Yeah, learning about the start of the Jedi Order and the genesis of the darkside was actually pretty cool. I think I was unfairly dismissive of the Consular storyline. I'm gonna stick with it.

Also another odd thing in Swtor is that at one point Thanaton says 'I know more devastating rituals than you could possibly imagine' and one shots you. He does it instantly. The ****? How is that a ritual. Its weird.

This should light a fire under the ass of today's self proclaimed progressives

21 and Over is hilarious.

So, Season 4 of Arrested Development. Was anybody here cool enough to watch it (I'm guessing steveholt955 was unless that username is one massive coincidence)?

Yes. It was as great as I expected. Only Arrested Development can come back after 7 years and still be better than anything on TV.

Indeed. It took me a while to get into the new format but after a few episodes it started to feel just like the show always had. I only hope that next time they manage to bring all the cast back together for longer periods of time and maybe start releasing the episodes throughout the year instead of all at once. I loved having access to all the episodes right away but having to wait practically an entire year between seasons is way too long.

The entire season's been edited into chronological order by the way if you're interested in watching it from an entirely new perspective.

Neph, you mentioned in the GDF that the Swtor forums treated anti-Sidious sentiment harshly. I would like the link of the thread in which you participated in such a tussle.

There's a thread that mentions "Disney" and has one poster saying a temple was crushed or broken. The topic creator has a name with at least two underscores. I think he also claimed that Luke isn't stronger than Sidious in another thread.

Theres no one thread, I've read enough that they've blend together. Also I've been prevented from posting there for some reason. There was one I read recently though that reminded me of the posters tendency to jump on Anti-Sidious supporters.

I think you'll enjoy the read. 😉

BTW I'm the guy the OP is talking about on page 15 when he mentions 'one of the most talented debaters I have yet come across.'

Lol

Thanks for the link. 15 pages in and good lord LeGeND got renamed. Good to see I've won the internets on this this subject: on Swtor's home turf.

Where did he call you a good debater?

Page 15, First post. Some guy was arguing that anything written about Sidious in a sourcebook is G-canon, so I PM'd LeGenD a counterargument.

Hopefully that was commonly accepted and I just blew everyones minds.

What do you think of LeGenDs essay btw?

I think it was a valiant and exhaustive effort undermined and ultimately crippled by the usual legendisms.

For a guy who specializes in dishonest interpretation, I'm surprised to see how vulnerable your counterargument is to the same tactics you employ. I would have expected you to beef it up. But as people generally see those tactics as deplorable and indicative of a compromised intellect, you might luck out and be spared its public destruction.

Your merits as a debater notwithstanding, LeGenD ascribes talent to you solely because you happen to share his views. (Likewise, when he consistently disagrees with you, you explode and unleash a tsunami of nerd!rage and insults against him). Yours is an alliance of circumstance; any compliment you extend to one another is suspect by default.

Hardly. Sidious being the most powerful Sith Lord is not an element originating with Lucas, thus it is not G-canon. It is something originating from the author of the sourcebook only. Besides which I don't know what tactics you're talking about. The only tactics I employ are double standards and feigning ignorance of facts that would harm my case. Like pretending that I don't know that O-whoops!

Also I would have written more if I could have posted it myself. As such I only outlined the concept to LeGenD briefly.

LeGenD acknowledged my skills before our interests merged.

No, because someone could just say that Sidious's potency is a G-canon element (since Lucas created and developed the character) and thus quotes on such subjects are binding. When you respond, they could simply repost that; rinse and repeat. It's lazy, it's easy, and it's not something you can ever win. (Another lesson I impart unto you.)

Sure he did.

Except I've never done that. And if they did I would simply ignore them after demonstrating my arguments superiority in one of my legendarily devastating rebuttals. Sidious' potency is a Lucas originating element. That his potency is above all other Sith Lords in history is not however.

He did so in that huge Darth Malgus vs Sith thread iirc.

Exactly, you would concede the point, acknowledge that you can't win the argument on any field (single standards or double standards, whenever you and your opponent move to even footing, you invariably lose), and introduce a subject change and quietly slink off to lick your wounds. It's little else than protracted Whack-A-MoleTroll.

Sure he did.
