Neph I forgot is that basic gear or elite gear? Or neither?

Basic. You get Basic commendations from Makeb and Oricon missions.

Also, I hit level 51 with my SI, and got most of the Ragnos armor. I just need the robes proper which are about 350k at the marketplace and then the circle will be complete.

Do you have the Makeb expansion?

Galactic Starfighters NDA has been lifted so:

Hands-on with SWTOR's Galactic Starfighter

YouTube video

It looks pretty damn epic to me. I kinda want to sub for December to play it early.

I really need to get the dread forge gear for my guardian.

Yeah I got the expansion.

Ok, cool. Which server are you on?

Ebonhawk I think?

My Republic characters are on Ebonhawk..... mmm

I will flag for pvp. Bring it!

By your own admission, “many people supporting Sidious weren’t voicing their opinion in elaborate replies that often.” When Lightsnake came along, many threads rapidly devolved into antediluvians attacking him (and him alone) en masse. They weren’t the underdogs.

Oh my.
You're perceiving the SWVS from a rather limited point of view, aren't you? There were lots of people attacked by the Antedeluvians and not just Lightsnake. He was certainly one of the more prominent "victims". But you may want to ask yourself, whether that was due to the opinions he expressed or due to the arguments he fielded. You may want to recall his stance on amulets and similar technology from the Ancient Sith: They might have found it somewhere, instead of constructing those items. And that was just one of his more prominent logical stunts.

With you - at least for myself - it's pretty much the same. I don't care that much about your personal opinion, but your ways of defending it.

Yes, you’ve claimed your personal convictions don’t enter the equation. I’m telling you that’s total bullshit and that if you were such a mercenary—if your platforms were so flexible and impersonal—we’d see a bit more variety in your post history. But even when the antediluvians were dominant, you were riding shotgun on the Sidious-defaming bandwagon.

There is a lot of variety in my posting history, Gideon. That has been demonstrated to you more than one time. That you want to stick with what you perceive as "Anti Sidious part" of it, doesn't magically make the rest of it go away.

Addressed: we’re discussing tendencies and inclinations, not absolutes and specifics. That Republican Senator Mark Kirk openly supports gay marriage doesn’t mean he's a Democrat.

We aren't discussing anything, Gideon. You state your personal opinions, based on seemingly one-sided accessment of my posting history and general ignorance towards my explanations regarding those points. So. You are just stating your opinions and I'm telling you, why they are wrong. And since I am, by all means, the single authority regarding my own mind, I win by default.

You’ve gone to great lengths over a number of years to present yourself as the consummate mercenary poster, infallibly objective and impeccably reasonable, who has risen above the petty foibles of the Common Man. For you to be revealed as a man who suffers from the same ailments as we plebes—those fools who prefer certain characters over others and debate accordingly, perhaps even allowing such preferences to dictate or otherwise influence the manner in which they debate—would compromise your carefully manufactured impression management.

Ahaha. Seriously, Gideon.
Do you ever pay attention, to what other people tell you? I've openly admitted to utilize polemics and even sophism in my arguments. And never have I claimed to be "objective" or free from anything resembling bias. That wouldn't even work for my way of arguing, since I need to pick a position first. That I called you out on the same doesn't mean I'm not affected by it as well, does it?

I'm quite cognizent of the fact, that every kind of perception made by a human being is an act of interpretation as well. That's one of the fundamental axioms in semiotics. So the question is not whether one is biased, but just how one deals with it.

The first step is, obviously, to realize the own bias. And then? You see. I believe, that in order to get closer to something resembling "the truth", it is a good idea to find evidence contradicting the own convictions. This is the scientific method applying the principle of falsfiability. You, apparently, believe, that, if everybody is biased, it doesn't matter cementing a biased position by just looking for evidence supporting it. Your Sidious essay, that you blasphemously labeled "analysis" reveals as much. Not even a grain of disconfirming evidence to be found there, not even to attempt and debunk it.

In the very same way, you "analyse" my actions in this very forum.

Uncle Nai sounds like someone who, despite never being featured in any family photo album, shows up at childhood sports events in a van with blacked-out windows and offers candy, encouraging winks, and opportunities for “private; secret, really,” lessons that somehow require us both to be completely nude and why do I have to breathe into this rag, Uncle Nai? My God, is that chloroform?! Oh sh—

A simple "No." would have been enough.

You’re missing the point entirely. The problem isn’t that your baleful gaze is permanently fixed on me; I expect to be a central figure in the lives of others.

It’s just what, when you talk about how you’re only playing the Devil’s advocate and that personal convictions don’t enter into the equation and you deliberately change positions like underwear and your only goal is to improve your English and test your mettle against others… I can’t help but scratch my head.

Oh. So there isn't any problem besides your lack of comprehension? Good to know.

You routinely insult my intelligence and the strength of my arguments, so I clearly don’t provide the challenge you seek. (Curiously, it appears that no one can support Sidious and earn your respect.)

The challenge I seek?
Good god, Gideon. Apparently, you got me wrong there once more. I don't come here to find any kind of challenge in the sense of "let's see who can outdebate me on the issue of X". I come here for entertainment purpose, and not for any kind of intellectual challenge. In fact, formulating my thoughts in English is much more challenging then coming up with that thoughts in the first place.

And with that being said, I can just emphasize again, that I don't utilize much of my academic knowledge here. I also just seldomly pick up an SW source in order to argue here, despite of having a lot of them at hand. I just don't care enough, to put real effort in most of my postings. There are exception to that idea, but that's how I usually "work" when I'm here.

Thus I must conclude that your claims are false and you really do have an agenda like the rest of us. And if your agenda really were nothing else than a general jihad against the Hordes of Bias, I should think that there exists other targets equally deserving of your holy wrath—targets with whom you almost always never bother.

Last time I got involved with the individual in question, I pretty much told it, that I'm not sure whether or not we belong to the same species. And this while he applauded some of my postings. 'Nuff said?

You’re not looking hard enough: IKC and Illustrious were two in particular who used quotes about Ragnos as a perpetually-menstruating woman might her tampons.

This simile is especially appropriate given the level of irrationality and instability shared by both subjects.

I weren't looking at all.

So IKC and Illustrious didn’t believe in the quotes they used to support Ragnos and the ancient Sith, thus exempting them from your righteous fury? Really? How on earth could you possibly discern that?

I hate to repeat myself, Gideon: They weren't exempted from my "righteous fury". Neither was Janus, nor Sorgo. And I was talking about myself, and not for the Antedeluvians in general. Yet, I don't recall much use of the "most powerful of the most powerful" quote for Ragnos after it had been debunked via context ("but now he is dead"😉. Compare that to the antics of Lightsnake and yourself, citing character statements as "zeh absolute proof!!!!" over and over again, without giving an inch. I hope you do actually spot a difference.

That description could apply to plenty of posters here and many of them have nothing to do with Sidious. Yet it’s only the Sidious contingent that earns your attention. Which is the point that you continue to duck.

I don't "duck" that point, Gideon. As you've managed to state yourself: I'm attacking the status quo. The pro-Sidious fraction attempts to uphold the status quo, so it gets attacked. I can break that down even more for you: If you start to question your own arguments, I don't have to do that for you anymore.

When you start “sharing the love” a bit more, I’ll believe you are the dirty little whore you claim to be. ‘Til then, I’m quite convinced this is an entirely monogamous relationship of hate-sex between you and His Imperial Majesty.

Though I can't honestly blame you; he is rather dreamy.

If you show me a forum, where Sidious doesn't pop up as issue in 90 percents of all debates, that can be done. Until then, you will have to live with that disappointment.

No u

I had forgotten about the "they found it" assertion. He had some strange ways of dealing with anything in the comics which he didn't like, but we got along outside of the debates easily enough. I remember the debate we had about the vampires and the Hylden from Legacy of Kain. I noted that the ancients before they became vampires were religious zealots, but ultimately the nicer of the two factions, while he asserted furiously that the Hylden were wronged and victimized. This is after I established that the Hylden had created a genocide machine and an eternal prison. He refused to budge an inch.

He was a stubborn guy, I give him that. I remember the Nihilus arguments still, where he, Gideon and Sexy kept insisting that he'd just tractor beamed the Ravager off Malachor.

Clearly, he used a tractor beam. I mean, it's so explicit. :troll:

Also, Nihilus should be a meme.

Some of my favorite video games.

I'm hoping Nosgoth is better than just another MMO. I'd rather have had a single player game but Amy Hennig walked out on the company so the storyline is at a cliffhanger.

Maybe this will at least shed some light on already established lore.

...They're making an MMO about it?

Yup.

Of course bro! Everythings an MMO now. Gotta beat WoW!
