Opinions?

There was a Cracked article from last week that discussed the filibuster, that ended with the sentiment: "...you can't get dirty tricks written out of the rules -- ultimately, both sides want to reserve the right to pull the same tricks themselves down the road."

I guess the Democrats read it.

yeah, changing the rules is kinda a problem. Both sides want to **** americans in the ass, the only thing stopping them is that they disagreed on the best way to do it. Now it will be easier for both sides, depending who has the majority, to pass ass****ing rules uninhibitaed.

Bethesda picked a shit time to run a mere two day beta. I couldn't register using the link they provided and it ends up falling on two of the busiest days this month. Maybe I'll get a little bit of time for TES Online tonight but if not meh. I've been meaning to see if the combat is any better than some of the original gameplay previews I've seen.

OH MY GOD. OH MY FVCKING GOD. FINALLY. FINALLY. AFTER YEARS OF HOPES, FEELS, DREAMS AND WHO KNOWS WHAT ELSE FINALLY, FINALLY IT WILL BE REALITY! PERSONA FVCKING 5 HAS BEEN ANNOUNCED!

nobody but me cares but screw all a yall

Got answer back from Karpyshan on my second email, lol.

Oooh, what about?

Too lazy to scan it this time, here the questions and answers are copy/paste.

Questions

1. What does it mean that Revan is ''heart of the Force'' in Revan novelization?

2. Is Revan really more powerful than Nihilus, as is suggested by the Exile in Revan novelization?

3. Did Revan reach oneness state when he released a combination of light side and dark side against Sith Emperor in Revan novelization?

4. In Darth Bane: Dynasty of Evil novelization, it is noted that on Ambria, the nexus is trapped within the lake, but Zannah, when spawning dark-side tendrils, draws nexus energy from the soil and stone. How does this work?

5. If Darth Bane had opportunity to choose if he could wear the orbalisks in Darth Bane: Rule of Two novelization, do you think he would decline?

6. Is Darth Bane the Sith'ari?

Answers

1. It doesn't mean anything specific; only that he is very connected to the Force.

2. I don't like to say A is stronger than B; I explain why on my FAQ page. They were both very powerful, though not in the exact same way.

3. I'm not sure what you mean by a "oneness state". Revan is a powerful Force user who draws on both the light and dark side of the Force, but he was always kind of like that.

4. The Force permeats all things, and while much of the power is concentrated in the lake, it seeps through everything. Zannah basically was drawing on the power trapped there for thousands of years.

5. It's hard to say; they gave him great power but they also almost destroyed him. I'm not sure what he would do, to be honest.

6. I like to leave this open to interpretation. Some people say yes, some say no; it depends on who you define the various prophecies. But I don't believe this has a definitive answer; it's always open to interpretation.

That's Drew for you: extremely nebulous. He also refuses to get into A is better than B debates. I tried as such years ago.

Also, I only ever played Persona 1. It was very weird but in a good way. My best friend played it a lot and probably did all the various playthrus.

Also he doesn't know what Oneness is. mmm

Drew was (correctly imo) hedging his bets for most of those. Nothing new was really revealed. Also I don't care what he thinks, Nihilus > Revan.

Persona's 3 + 4 are my favorite games of all time. So I'm mad excited for that.

I'd email Chris Avellone on Revan v Nihlus. He would have a better grasp.

What system(s) for five?

True, and he'd probably give a straight answer. But Revans moved so far away from what he envisioned I doubt it'd be accurate.

PS3. Atlus games always come out for the old generation right as the next gen comes out. Persona 3 and 4 are both PS2 games (though they have releases on later consoles) and 4 came out way after the PS3 was released (2008 iirc).

Even a Revan v Nihlus as of KotOR 1 (intro) as a Darth ould be measurable. Revan in the novel only becomes uber when he gets all his memories back.

Catching fire is good.

It was pretty damn good, yeah.

It also had much higher production values than its predeccesor. Better acting, better writing, better special effects. It was pretty much superior on every level.

This is good. I had already planned to see it but this is welcoming to hear.

Silly question, and I don't mean to be critical: I've spent plenty of time on this website arguing with the same passion as everyone else. I just don't know what the point of sending personal emails to the authors is? How does it tie into what we do here? Is it just idle curiosity about their viewpoints? If, for instance, that email had said "In my mind, Revan is ABSOLUTELY more powerful than Nihilus" What would that have really proved in terms of what we do here? Nothing, right? I mean, his viewpoint isn't really anything more than one more view on the matter, is it?

Side note: Does Lucas's opinion even count as much as it did before, since he no longer owns the franchise? If you guys have already decided that, catch me up?

From my POV, just for author intent to remove ambiguity. Drew actually detests versus arguments, while someone else may be more open to the idea. All evidence regardless of source must be put into context but this is another way to examine things.

I'm unclear of GL's standing now but I've only ever considered him a godfather of EU and a director of G-Canon.
