I think he rightly identifies the character's archetypal nature and thematic purpose as the dominant representation of the dark side within the story. So it stands to reason that Sidious must be immensely powerful, intelligent, seductive, etc. while also simultaneously evincing the dark side's many flaws: overconfidence, cruelty, fear, etc.
Sidious really isn't even the most powerful dark sider in The Clone Wars mythology: that distinction goes to The Son of Mortis.
This is far less wanktastic than, say, Karen Traviss with her Mandalorians, Timothy Zahn with Thrawn & Mara Jade, and Karpyshyn with Revan & Bane.

Best show ever. Do yourself a favour and have at least a 2 week break between seasons (people should do this in general with shows). People have a habit of watching shows that have already aired and watching season premiers directly after finalis, and you lose the anticipation you would otherwise have gotten if you watched the show when it originally aired, and had to wait and be left guessing what happens after a cliffhanger.
No spoilers but the wait between seasons 3 and 4 for example made the show just that much better when the season 4 premier finally aired.

Apparently Yoda will indeed be fighting the real Sidious on Moriband. The fight is described as Sidious "manipulating Yoda's reality," and is "dark and surreal," and is possibly "even more personal" than their fight in the Rotunda.
