I think you'll find that it is often men who are most invested in masculine / traditional gender roles; complaining that a movement devoted to combating traditionally unequal splits of social power is spending insufficient time helping the main beneficiaries of that power seems to be like asking the ACLU to stick up for the rights of the poor, slandered Wall Street Banker.
I was talking to a good friend of mine who happens to be a prosecutor, and the way I understand it is, the Ferguson prosecutor has the discretion to ask the jury if they want to hear testimony from the defendant (Wilson). If they say yes, then he is allowed to testify. At least in the state of Texas.
