I enjoyed the NJO books. It was entertaining enough to make it through at least. It was such a large-scale war that it was interesting to read the space battles. There were lots of good moments, like the Myrkyr mission, lots of stuff regarding Anakin Solo, finding Lord Nyax, Vergere and Jacen's interaction, Wedge Antilles, TUF, etc.

Agreed. TUF and Traitor were easily two of the best books in the EU. Lord Nyax sucked though.
What I liked about Nyax was that he was an opponent that Luke couldn't even contend with, when Luke had mostly been unstoppable. He was very mysterious and it was written in a suspenseful, thrilling way, and was not the type of character I expected during the NJO, so perhaps it was also nice to have a bit of a break from the Vong as enemies. It was a long ass series.

About to start reading Star by Star and holy **** 624 pages, and to make matters worse its more of Troy Denning. Its no ****ing wonder a lot of people honestly don't like the Vong books, I think I'm going to take a break from them for a bit I still need to finish Fatal Alliance, Outbound Flight, and my copy of the Revan novel is coming in. Honestly, all of those books are likely better than any of the Vong novels I've read.
