Personally I still think its a technically better movie than the first one. Better action, better villain, better team-dynamic.

Just not quite as fun for some reason.

The wow factor of seeing the team together being badasses is gone.

It was fun, it was funny, it had likeable characters, a memorable and effective villain, cool action and special effects, and generally kept me entertained the entire run time.

I expected all of that and it delivered all of that. Damn fine work, Whedon.

Disappointed the police killed him. I thought Texas was a wonderland where everyone was armed and thus violent crime never happened. What do you guys even need police for?

No, Texas is a wonderland if you don't want to worry about mass shootings and/or suicide bombings (with the exception of 1 or 2 incidents the past 20 years). There wasn't a violent crime. Violent crimes happen when there are civilian casualties, or even injuries. In this case, we took care of the problem before it really became a problem.
