I wish they'd give tips on how to hatefully send messages to belittle antagonistic moderators.
Funny how most moderators on most forums don't have the balls to discuss things with the common folk. It's a sign of great stupidity, hubris, or impatience, all of which are traits of a shitty administrator.
I'll give Ush credit. He has no problem asserting why he makes a decision rather than "DISAGREE WITH ME AND GET BANNED!" even though he's not quite as flexible as I would want.
how can you possibly get an extended ban? Posting all kinds of awful things while you aren't posting? I got an account there, truejedi2 and all that jazz. Didn't find one thread that seemed concise enough to post in. too many stupid bright colors too... but thats just personal bias.
i think it was all the "never read a star wars book before? Here is the beginning of your journey" crap that really turned me off though. A lot of the threads looked like they were started by somebody who would feel welcomed by that opening line though.
My ban was extended for sending the moderator, Havac, a message and asking him why I was the only one punished. I just got done drafting a final message to him:
"Extended, for pointing out the unfairness in your sentences? While I'm disappointed for the transparent reason, you seemingly possess the mental deficits of the people you unfairly protect, since I explicitly told you to go ahead and make the ban permenant. Your lack of reading comprehension is one of the reasons why I consider you a joke: I'm the newbie being unfairly persecuted and I demonstrate more class and intelligence in exile than you do as a moderator. Aren't you supposed to be a representation of civilty and fairness? Understand that the authority here doesn't mean a thing. You're the worst kind of tyrant, Havac, the cowardly kind. You merely extend the ban rather than make it permenant even when this is between the two of us. I'm not embarrassing you in front of your constituents (who probably think the same thing). The truth of the matter is that these forums are regarded as a joke by other communities, KMC and Stardestroyer.net being but two of them. They're both aware of the fact that you have unfairly protected specific authors, persecuted individuals whose opinions differ from the status quo; they know that I'm not the first. It's people like you, sad and lonely people who will never amount to any thing in life, who take out their aggression and obsolescence and try to dictate others because, to you, being feared and respected is everything. The problem is that those who are truly great have no problem being challenged and can defeat their opponents through an application of logic. You have yet to do so. It's "LOL BAN!"
Harassment? Please. I just don't kiss your ass. Why should I? I'm clearly better than you and have tolerated your abuse of authority far longer than most would have.
That's okay, though. Seriously. Because we'll laugh at how desperate you are to keep your reputation untarnished, we'll laugh at how you wrongfully attack those who disagree with you, we'll laugh as your forums' membership runs dry and then the other administrators will remove your lame ass and you'll be skewered by the very system you created.
That's what happens to tyrants, right, Havac? Make the ban permenant, please. Because you don't want me coming back, embarrassing you in front of everyone.
When you grow a pair and want to ever talk this out civilly, be my guest. But I doubt you will. Cowardly people are predictable. 😉"
that looks an aweful lot like irreverence and "i don't give a crap Im just going to do the same thing again when the ban is over." Its the kind of things us moderators (I'm not a moderator here, but elsewhere) would permanently ban for.
In most cases, moderators require respect to treat you with respect and that doesn't look like a smart thing to send to someone you want respect too.
Of course, I don't know this moderator, he probably blows donkey balls and deserves and lives up to every statement in your reply, but with that baby sitting in his inbox, nobody is going to question your perma-ban.

From the moderator point of view, it is rather over the top and I can see why he would extend your ban for something like that. But we've already talked about it on MSN.
Yeah, but keep the following in mind:
He extended my ban for asking him why I was banned and then simply saying that I didn't think it was deserved at all. The above diatribe was written after I got the message back that he was extending my ban.

That's not it at all. I recognize the purposes of online authority and I also recognize that it is foolish and immature to challenge it at every opportunity. And like I told REX, this message was drafted after he extended my ban for asking him why I was banned in the first place. He labelled it "harassment."

This might sound like the words of an embittered exile, but I can assure you without any leap of faith that I am far more intelligent than his moderator.
With that in mind, as I said, I respect authority. I did not attack Ush or REX for subscribing to, what I believe, is an incredibly deluded belief regarding the status and training of Imperial stormtroopers or the blind adherence to the notion that we must place the movies first without any analysis. Because despite this colossal disagreement, I respect both of them. Ush and REX in particular do not, to me, demonstrate the ideals that "if you disagree, you will be banned!" Ush stuck around for multiple posts to explain his point of view without hurling his weight around, same for REX.
But I'm not of the opinion that a person of authority is due total and utter respect. I handled my complaints (initially) with a respectful, if not asskissing manner. But rank or position don't do anything for me unless they are applied fairly. In this case, that didn't happen, and so I gave vent to my frustration.

He did. Was I perhaps too aggressive in my arguments at TFN? Sure. Absolutely. I even apologized twice on the matter. But I didn't outright insult or belittle anyone until the above message.
Keep in mind that the purpose of moderators and leaders is to lead by example, to represent the best society has to offer. Havac is not such a specimen. He is partisan, he is selective on whom he yields judgment, and he has censored and removed the opinions of others (the whole administration has) for certain examples. Some of my posts were outright deleted and TFN is notorious for deleting threads and banning users for disagreeing with authors; the first time I was banned at TFN was because I stated that much of Karen Traviss's "logic" has no realistic or factual basis.
That does not make a good moderator. They aren't supposed to ban on whims and they are to give reasons for such. Moreover, they are to be open minded. Ush may not have quite the flexible mind I would hope, but in all fairness, he is simply following canon (just ignoring what I feel is essential context).
This guy? Hell, he allowed Charlemagne and the others to throw the concept of movie supremacy right out the window and facilitated the idea that the EU and movies are somehow equal.
That is why Ush and REX have my respect. If they disregarded such criteria, I'd have no problem bringing it to their attention. The difference is that they have earned my respect in the past and would not deliberately try my patience.
Anyone who does is a terrible moderator and isn't deserving of the position. Part of the reason I left EOD as a matter of fact.
